However, what is true, is that the locals turned out by the hundreds to support the friends and family of the fallen soldier.

I do not think it should be legal to have protestors near a funeral party.
I don't think there is a way for such a law to be constitutional. We stand for free speech along side the freaks as long as they are just using their mouths.

This is slippery ground. It is harrassment and illegal to falsely detain somone.
I agree with Wasanelder. It would be better if they would handle the situation the in the manner the Supreme Court suggested to States; pass local ordinances, and then they could legally detain them.

IF any of the Westboro folks had their rights violated, you can expect a lawsuit. Multiple Phelps are lawyers. Margie Phelps (via her public Twitter feed) said that none of her folks were arrested in MS. I cannot find any mention of anything else.
