I quit!
The blood might be the best ingredient in those nasty little things.

From the Digital Journal:
"Vegetarians, vegans, Jehovah's Witnesses, Seventh-Day Adventists, Buddhists and Jews have taboos against the eating of meat, especially products made from animal blood. ..."
Oooo - kay.... That statement is wrong on several levels...
Vegetarians and vegans wouldn't be eating chicken, anyway. Only "pico" so-called "vegetarians" would be at risk, here.
Of the groups mentioned, only the Buddhists have any sort of taboo against the eating of meat - I think... But when it comes to not eating cows' meat, I'm suprised that they didn't mention the Hindus...
Just a bit of trivia - in Africa, when some drummakers glue a fish skin on as the 'drum' head, they occasionally use fish blood - or sometimes their own blood - as a major ingredient when making the glue...

Not to worry, there IS a kosher version:
Activa TI and TIU:TI is simply TG and maltodextrin with no added helper protein. TIU is the Kosher version of TI and is the only Kosher TG available. TI is packaged at twice the enzyme level as RM or GB. It can be sprinkled or made into a slurry. It will not bond as wide a range of foods as RM.

The witlesses can rumor all they want. However, there is one ingredient that makes me not want them: Monosodium glutamate.

I'm not going to click on the link while I have a fridge full of chicken nuggets. But I do remember a member of my family writing to Birds Eye in the 70's and got a reply to say there is no blood in fish fingers.
