What Draws You to a Poster?

Okay. It was childish and a bit boorish, I'll admit it.

I'll try to bring something more imaginitive and fresh to the table next time.

Dickin's Cider has already been used. Let's see.......Willy Fisterbottom? Nope. Too obvious.....I'll work on it and get back to you.

    (I hate hi-jacking a thread...)

Lysmith, you NumNuts!!! Just try LOOKING UP the meaning of the name "Ziddina", online...

There's a really hilarious Turkish variation of that name - and I'll leave it up to you to figure out the rest of the story...

By the way, the name "Ziddina" is a North African Imazighen [that's "Berber", to you...] name from the period of Imperial Rome. It was found inscribed on a marble tablet at an archaeological dig in a Roman settlement - the name of the Berber wife of a Berber official who'd become a Roman citizen.

Okay, Okay. Geez. Just having a little fun.

Let's get this thread back on track.

I like the type of poster who gets really agitated when other posters use their screen name to have a bit of juvenile fun.

P.S. "Num Nuts" LMAO! LOVE it! My favorite insult of all time.

Shelby, how are you feeling, m'lady?

I am feeling quite well, these days, dear Mr. F (again, peace to you!). Almost like "myself"... about 90-95%... so I am pretty much "mended" (although I run out of breath pretty quick these days. T'wasn't the surgery what brought me down so much as the bronchial infection afterward - HOO-WEEE!).

While I'm here, I think I also owe Ms. Sylvie an apology (the greatest of love and peace to you, dear sister!) as perhaps I misunderstood the... ummmmm... "spirit" behind her title question. I took you to mean, dear one, what draws one to a certain poster so as to desire to read... and/or respond to... his/her posts. In reading some of the responses, however, I'm thinking you may have meant what draws one to a certain poster himself/herself... regardless of or in spite of what he/she posts. If that's the case, then I would have to say the "spirit" of Christ that I share with them. That is the first thing that draws me to a particular poster. I can "see" that spirit... IN them... by their "voices"... through their posts. Not only the love and TRUTH that such ones share here (both personal and spiritual) but their open and honest profession of Christ... in spite of the often "nasty" retorts they receive as a result. Regardless of how well they "know" the Bible, Bible history, etc. These totally do not matter.

The second thing that draws me... is if the poster is one who doesn't take himself/herself so seriously that they become easily and rapidly offended at even the minorest of slights... intended or unintend... and so are able to give... and receive... apologies (even when one isn't necessary and certainly where one is), as well as overlook the "injury"... and readily forgive. This is not an easy task for many and I have a personal admiration for those who do so readily and willingly. My heart aches, though, for those who can't/don't. Life's just way too short.

So, I hope I've cleared that up. Again, I apologize if I misunderstand what you were asking. Take care down there in 'Bama, girl, and HOLLA if you need anything!

YOUR servant, sister, and fellow slave of Christ,

    SA

No need to apologize, Shelby, dear heart.

I knew you would "get" it.

I can also pick up on the spirit or "aura'" of posters.

Hey, I come from a long line of fey females.
