I did -- when I graduated High School, I was expected by my mother and the elders to pioneer. When I didn't, the elders came to visit me and pressure me. Instead I got a job, and saved money to move out of my mother's house. After I moved, I had to save more money to put myself through college. I finally finished my degree when I was 38 years old.

Got my BA in sociology-criminal justice when I was 39.
Got my MS in justice administration-Homeland Security when I was 41.
I did this while a divorced mother of two little kids.
Working at Taco Bell while I figure out this mess of not knowing just what jobs I qualify for.
It's unnerving, but it is all me. I'll learn.
Never job hunted above teenage jobs before.
It's all so new (even a couple of years later).
But I'll tell you this: My college experience taught me how to think and how to be a responsible worker, a much better learner on the job, more Buddhist like.
He said that whatever you are doing, do it completely to the best of your ability. Sort of like that scripture about whatever you are doing, do it whole souled as to...well, you know that scripture.
