A sister you realize your doing this proselytizing on a discussion forum, if you want to sell your god
try a Christian Web site.
O Lord, by They Holy Spirit enlighten Thy people that all may know Thy love
By the way kind of a redundant statement don't you think since your god hasn't done a single thing for mankind
in over 2000 years and he's soon to destroy most of mankind along with his loving father who doesn't believe in them.
O Christ, our only sure Hope,
When we are cursed, let us conquer with goodness.
When we are ridiculed, teach us to bless.
When ill is spoken of us, may our tongue sing out praise.
When people take advantage of us,
let us never reciprocate with vengeance.
When we are robbed of our dignity,
let us surrender our lives completely to You.
When we are at the end of our earthly life,
pardon our sins and have mercy on us.
Amen.
Is it me or is this thing just going in circles?
this is a thread started by me for those people who want to *share prayers*. If others do not believe in praying, that is ok, so they do not have to share any prayers or read this thread ... similarly, perhaps some respect could be shown by not leaving rude remarks behind?
ixthis,
I, for one, I appreciate the iconography in your posts. Eastern churches are masters of these visual prayers. Thank you for sharing them!
Thank you GLTirebiter, the intention of this thread is peace ... no hatred.
From the moment your start praying, raise your heart upward and turn your eyes downward. Bring your focus to your innermost self, and there pray in secret to your heavenly Father.
Our Lord instructed us to pray in secret - this means, in our heart - and also to 'shut the door'. What is this door he says we must shut, if not the mouth? For we are the temple in which Christ dwells, for so the Apostle said, 'You are temples of the Lord' (1 Cor 3.16). The Lord enters into your inner self, into this house, to cleanse it from everything that is unclean; but only when the door, that is your mouth, is closed shut.
Before you pray, first forgive all those who have offended you. Then you may pray. Only in this way will your prayer rise up into the presence of God. If you do not forgive, it will simply remain on the earth.
