    I call BS, on this:

"We thus have no way of knowing the exact number of anointed ones on earth; nor do we need to know. The Governing Body does not keep a list of all partakers, for it does not maintain a global network of anointed ones."

WTS is all about numbers, of course they keep a list, and YES they NEED to.

If reporting the Hours in Service, Literature placed, etc... is so important to "—the greatest preaching and teaching work in human history"

Why wouldn't it be important to see how many anointed take the LEAD in the preaching? SPECIALLY since some are NUTS!

If they dont need to keep track of this...THEN NO MORE MONTHLY SERVICE REPORTS ARE NEEDED EITHER.

    And another thing:
Doesn't mental and emotional imbalances, THE REASON why anyone assumes they have the heavenly calling? Jehovah picked me!

    I need a smoke.

Translation: Dear Brothers, some of you are crazy. Others, despite being baptized Jehovah's Witnesses are clinging to false religious beliefs.

This is SO true, because visitors or unbaptized partakers ARE NOT countedin the world-wide tabulation!!

my brotherinlaw a former bethelite just partook of the emblems for the first time this year and yes he does have a history of depression and mental health problems and is on medication so i believe that statement by the watchtower is correct

So it is not possible to know the exact number of anointed ones who are on earth, and we do not need to know.

Hmm....When I did the Record Cards every Publisher was noted as being Anointed or Other Sheep, by their own declaration. The WT is now thumbing their nose at them, saying "We do not believe you" to their own household of Christs brothers....Very loving?

In past times when the numbers decreased according to plan they wanted to know, all right:

    WT 1966 6/15 p376

"the number of those who were gathered for the Lord’s evening meal each year and who partook of the emblems, indicating that they were Christ’s footstep followers and partakers of heavenly hopes......................

At the present time we see an overwhelming majority of the preachers of the good news of the Kingdom to be these “other sheep,” for at the celebration of the Lord’s evening meal world wide on April 16, 1965, the number of the remnant partaking of the emblems, the bread and wine, had decreased to 11,550",

I agree, I also know someone with mental health problems who started partaking.

I wonder why there are so many mentally unstable people in the borg?

Could following scriptures have the answer to why some persons with mental health problems anyway claim to be anointed?

14 At seeing this Jesus was indignant and said to them: “Let the young children come to me; do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to suchlike ones. 15 Truly I say to YOU , Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a young child will by no means enter into it.”-Mark 10:14:15

27 but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put the wise men to shame; and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put the strong things to shame; 28 and God chose the ignoble things of the world and the things looked down upon, the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are, 29 in order that no flesh might boast in the sight of God.-1Cor 1:27-29

So much nicer when they don't have those annoying numbers out there increasing instead of decreasing. Pretty soon there won't be any hard information in any of the books or in the Watchtower articles....do they still publish the Watchtower? I can't remember. The new light scorched it out of my head.

This creates a big problem. If they assert that many anointed actualy have mental problems, without being specific about how many of them are mentally defective, then all of them are suspect. Each of the anointed would need to be examined by a qualified therapist and cleared to be of sound mind before they would have credibility in religious matters. This would include the governing body. If they back pedal and say some are healthy, then they must demonstrate which ones are healthy and show how and when and by whom the healthy and ill ones were diagnosed. Without demonstrating that, one must conclude that all of them are suspect, or that the claim is a lie. They have painted themselves into a corner with this.
