Remember a few years ago when all of the hurricanes were a sign of the end? When California has the next devasting earthquake, what will they say? A sign of the end?
All of my JW FB friends have declared that their deliverence is getting near....

TRUTHSEEKER- You stated , " There is stuff happening, and while we have always had earthquakes and tsunamis, they have not been as close together in frequency as they have now . " HOW do YOU know ? Were you alive in the 13 century or 1400's or 1500's in Columbus day ? How would people even BE AWARE of earthquakes or tsunamis happening on the other side of the planet back then ? There WAS no Internet, no television, no computers, no radio's , etc, etc. Perhaps someone traveling by ship in a year's time might deliver a message to the other side of the world - but realize we ONLY know what we know about the NUMBER of earthquakes due to modern forms of communication making news travel faster !
And yes, the article has EVERYTHING to do with Harold Camping, JW's , or ANY other religion trying to scare the be-jesus out of people by telling them they think they have an accurate take on " end times " from God. Like they are God's spokesmen or something. We've heard this stuff for centuries. Sorry- I just don't buy into it. Too many times " end prophecies " have failed

Looking around it is plain to see that something is going on that did not used to be. Strange weather events, wars so complex and numerous, famines and talk of more to come.
When did any of these things "not used to be"? . . . and don't forget "Earthquakes" . . . we've had 7000 of them in 9 months.
What Jesus was talking about was CONDITIONS on a GLOBAL scale, not locally.
Really? . . . I don't recall that scripture.
burnt out from the cry wolf of religion.
As I remember the story . . . the boy crying wolf got eaten
Flipper is correct . . . many natural phenomena are cyclic . . . even random. When one considers that the last major super-volcano eruption occurred 1900 years ago and displaced more than 500 times the material Mt St Helens did . . . and spread it's ash around the entire globe . . . would not the end of the first century contain more features of this "sign"
We have the technology to look deeper into space and at celestial bodies . . . and to make information instantly available . . . to a much larger audience . . . that's all that "did not use to be" . . . but I don't recall these things being part of any "sign"
It is the hope of some, in every generation of man that has ever lived, to be "saved" from this big bad world . . . a peculiarly human trait . . . now that could be a "sign" of something?

We live on a planet that is full of hot spots and constantly in movement. Google Laki volcano eruption in 1783 if you really want end days scenario...people back then reported the blood red skies for one, the ash clouds caused widespread crop failures all over the world resulting in massive famine. Ireland, Scotland, Norway had poison gas from the clouds. 10,000 islanders died from the gases. In Japan the rice harvest failed and there was a terrible famine, towns in Alaska were decimated from famine. The french revolution sprang from the results of the terrible famine resulting from this eruption. So please do not say it is soooo much worse now. We have no idea what nature can throw at us.

while we have always had earthquakes and tsunamis, they have not been as close together in frequency as they have now.
Evidence?
What was the frequency of earthquakes & tsunamis 6000 years ago? 60,000 years ago? 600,000 years ago?

I do not think so. Bad things happen and with modern day comms we hear more about them. People are a mix of nice people and not so nice and now I am not a witness I appreciate a lot more good in people than I did before.
