    Good Morning, fellow JWNers:

I hope that you and yours are well.

New to the taking of prescription drugs, I see that prescription drugs are available for purchase online.

How is this done, without one's doctor's authorization? I looked up Plavix and it was some $5 a pill. A generic equivalent (different name and company) under $1 per unit.

    Any personal experience, recommended cautions?

    Thank you,

I wouldn't do it. There is ZERO official quality control, safety inspection etc.

Would you buy your meds from some guy you never met who is hawking them on the street?

I have known folks who did this and it worked out fine. Be sure and find one that looks credible and even research it before using it. Check their guarantees and refund polices. I'd not ever buy anything from Mexico pharmacies, but most Canadian pharmacies are fine. You want to make sure they have been in business a while and did not just throw up a web page last night.

also, don't know where you are at, but Walmart has a very large selection of prescription drugs for $4. If your drug is one that is on their list it will help a lot.

I use a local pharmacy for my online meds. You can have them shipped to your home or pick the meds up.

Mine's keeps a list of my meds and all I have to do is click refill. If a new script/order (need a refill order) is needed from the doctor they will call.

Is that what you're talking about?

    Hello CoCo

Check out costco/sams club. I had a percription that was over 80.00 at rite aid, costco 12.00.

You can call their pharm and get the price before driving out there.

You do not need to be a member either. Just walk right to the phamacy , no problems.

[you can buy wine, etc. there with out a card too. but they give you an escort]

I've heard some cautionary tales on tv [60 mon. or 20/20, I forgot] about online phamacies. From counterfiet to non effective drugs from China.

    Be careful.

Hope you are feeling your ol' self soon.

    Dear Eva:

Thank you very much! What a price difference!

I'm better but have to think before moving. Few things are automatic anymore ...

    Gratefully,

Actually I have purchased on-line prescription drugs. But,believe it or not, it was for my cat. They are a company in New Zealand and very reputable.

My cat had asthma, and if I was to purchase flovent for her here in the states it would have cost me over $200.00 every month. But,buying the same drug,by the same company under the European name flixotide it only cost me under $50.00 a month.

The vet had prescribed it for her,so it wasn't me treating her on my own. So,it is important to check the reputations of the companies and possibly get references.
