  Welcome to the forum.

  Yes, as others have advised, stick around and read. You have some things to think about concerning your future. One thing I'd like to point out is this-your decision doesn't have to be either Witnesses or back to your friends with the multiple "baby mommas" and drugs.

  You only have one life to live, so make it the healthiest, most successful one you can. Why not get an education? If you have finished High School, start with a Community College. The WTS doesn't aknowledge the importance of education, but I can certainly tell you that it will give you the best chance to have real choices in life, to think for yourself, to really know History-where you came from, why the situations in governments are like they are, etc. It will enable you to have job opportunities in fields that you are interested in. Knowledge is freeing. I am 59 years old and in college. I don't think I will have the careers open to me that you could have. If only I'd done research such as you are over thirty years ago when I was studying with the JWs......

  Thanks for the insightful words all. Has any of you ever heard the same about Star Wars back in the early 80's? I was sitting there like how the hell is Star Wars God dishonoring???? It's little things like that that started me going hmmmmmm. And i guess being deathly afraid of Armageddon sticks around with some people for years huh?

  I don't recall the Star Wars thing specifically . . . but I do recall James Bond being labelled a liar, a fornicator and a murderer. Some of these examples were merely pet examples of the speaker himself, and were as a result, a bit on the hysterical side.

  As regards the Armageddon thing . . . when you've been controlled by a fear mechanism for so many years, it's not something that you're going to divest yourself of overnight. Doomsday prophets have been a feature of mankinds history almost constantly . . . but no Armageddon has ever materialised. Conditions relating to mankinds existence have always been pointed out as a sign of it's nearness. But I won't convince you of that overnight either. Keep reading and researching and keep an open mind as you do so. You need to give yourself time. I felt the same fear lurking in the back of my mind for several years . . . but I have no such fears now. Becoming informed and the passage of time have brought me to that.
