Watching me type frightens those who know how (my Ex had to look away when I was typing). It's a multi-finger seek and stab, using three fingers on my right hand and two on the left. My speed isn't extraordinary, but faster than most can hunt-and-peck. Accuracy--well, that's another story--backspace is my friend!

I am a software guy... I spend 100% of my working time on a computer. I took typing in high school and ... failed it... I could never get over the need to look at the keys.
I took both tests mentioned above by BTS and Nicolas and I averaged 34 words per minute (after subtracting errors). YUK!
After some longer days, my eyes really bother me from the strain of looking at the keyboard and back to the screen -- over and over and over...

I can type 90 wpm consistently. Im pretty good at the 10 key as well.

When you take a typing test, they take your errors off your wpm. So if you type 90 wpm on a typing score, but you made four errors, you still typed only 90 wpm.

so cool! remember these buttons? "I love my WANG" "My WANG works wonders!" and my favorite "I'd be lost without my WANG".
First-best WP (beat out IBM in the early days after we got rid of that AES junk!) and first home pc - a company out of Lowell, Mass owned by the brilliant Dr. Wang (I kid you not! lol). Had the market cornered, but the son inherited the business and ruined it in a year. I used to teach Intro to PC on WANG for a community college - you know, to secretaries who only knew typewriters. BEST ... JOB ... EVER! And, lmao,,, I still miss DOS!!!!
Then along came apple (many variations),, then the first MAC --- I was in lurv! Pagemaker, and all that great DTP stuff. Ah, the good old days ... hehehe
... thought this was funny, too ..
I can type 90 wpm with 30% accuracy.
and 30 wpm with 90% accuracy.
