Yes I remember those food trays they were heavy, I used to work in the kitchens and food services back in the day. If memory serves me correctly I did it to get out of the boring talks.
Being a kid at an assembly was terrible in light of the fact you had to sit there for hours not completely understanding what the speaker was talking about.
I almost see it as child cruelty.
