TWENTY FOURTEEN (2014) proves something if you pay attention...

  From the 2nd Century until now Christianity has postponed something purported to be the most important of all important happenings.

  The COMING of the Messiah?

  No. The Jews are waiting on that event.

  The coming of CHRIST?

  No. Christians believe Jesus came already.

  The 2nd Coming of Christ?

  For mainstream Christians, yes. But, what would that event MEAN?

  For Christendom, if you told them the 2nd coming of Christ would mean--- nothing---for at least another 100+ years- --they'd look at you like a lunatic.

  Why?

  Because the SECOND coming is supposed to CAUSE an END and not begin a prelude to an END, that's why.

  Think of it this way: you look in the newspaper at the Movie listings. Your long-awaited favorite movie is premiering at noon on Friday!

  You arrive ahead of time and a long, long line of fans is standing waiting for tickets. Eventually, you make your way to the box-office and purchase the expensive admission ticket.

  Entering the theater you take your seat and the lights go dim.

  Instead of the movie beginning there is a long commercial trailer telling you that the MOVIE has begun...sort of...but, you won't actually see any of the images for at least another 100 years!!!

  Would that piss you off? Would it be a kind of FRAUD?

  Sure.

  Except, this is exactly what 2014 WILL ALREADY HAVE MEANT for JW's who have been sitting in the movie theater for many overlapping generations buying tubloads of popcorn and cola since 1914!!

  The MOVIE has sort of already begun---but--they haven't seen anything but preview trailers promising....promising...promising....

  They already bought their ticket! If they give up and leave their seat----what if the movie starts?? They'll miss it?

  Sounds stupid right?

  WELL, IT IS!

  These JW's are very slow to get the point.......very.....very......slow.........

  I think it would look like this:

  Old fashioned film count down, "10...9..." etc

  "THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE MOVIE"

  "THE MOVIE HAS STARTED"

  "YOU ARE WATCHING THE START OF THE MOVIE"

  "THE FIRST SCENE WILL SHOW UP IN A MINUTE"

  "THE FIRST SCENE IS ABOUT TO START"

  "THERE WILL BE LOTS OF OTHER SCENES AFTER THE FIRST ONE."

  "YOU CAN GET EXCITED NOW, THE REAL MOVIE IS ABOUT TO START."

  "EVIDENTLY THE FIRST SCENE IS ALMOST HERE."

  and the jw's are still sitting there waiting for it to start.

  That would make a nice flash animation project.

  It could just have a pool of 100 or so random phrases like those and keep playing them infinitely.

  It could have little timer at the bottom and occasionally tell you: "You've been waiting for 6 minutes, but that just means you're 6 minutes closer to the movie"

  "You've been waiting for 97 years, but that just means you're 97 years closer to paradise"

  And when you try to leave a little pop-up will ask: "Are you sure you want to leave? You've been waiting for 23 minutes, you don't want to throw that time away do you?"

  I don't think 2014 will affect the majority of jws. Because of the new explanation about the generation, the gb has bought another 50 or so years of time. Like sheep to the slaughter, they will follow the crazy teachings of the gb. The end will always be just around the corner no matter what. Some jw have nowhere to go, the cong is all they know.

  You know, it just sounds hilarious when stated clearly out in the open like this---but, heck---THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT JW'S ARE DOING.

  For JW's, unlike mainstream Christians, JESUS HAS BEEN BACK NOW for 97 YEARS!

  Wow! What an anti-climax!

  They should be embarassed as hell!

  Oh but its even worse terry.... Jw will tell you that "he" has done something! He has gotten u into the movie theater and that proves that there is in fact a movie comming, and soon!

  Talk about your unfulfilled campaign promises.

  A president runs for office and if he doesn't restore the economy in 4 years we kick him out and try a new guy.

  Jesus promises an end to sickness, poverty, death, sorrow and natural disasters. He's king for 97 years and doesn't do any of it. When do we get to elect a new guy? Monarchy sucks. . .

  One thing I don't think most dubs know is that wts actually said the beginning of the end times was in 1799 and Armageddon began in 1914 (not that it would come, that it did).

  Beginning of the end times = 1799

  "...1799 definitely marks the beginning of 'the time of the end'.... 'The time of the end' embraces a period from A.D. 1799, as above indicated, to the time of the complete overthrow of Satan's empire....we have been in 'the time of the end' since 1799" (The Harp of God, 1928 ed., pp. 235-36, 239).

  Latter part of the end times = 1874

  "The time of the Lord's second presence dates from 1874....From 1874 forward is the latter part of the period of 'the time of the end'. From 1874 is the time of the Lord's second presence... It was in the year 1874, the date of our Lord's second presence..." (The Harp of God, 1928 ed., pp. 236, 239-40).

  Soon!

  "The Scriptures indicate that a great time of trouble similar to that which came upon the Jewish nation will now come upon all Christendom. The experience of Israel in the year 70 [destruction of Jerusalem] will be paralleled in the experiences of the year 1915" (Watch Tower, 15 June 1913, p. 181).

  Armageddon is here!

  "The present great war in Europe [World War I] is the beginning of the Armageddon of the Scriptures" (Pastor Russell's Sermons, p. 676).

  Other religions will be destroyed in 1918. Armageddon is a multi-year war for an omnipotent god!

  "...in the year 1918, when God destroys the churches wholesale and the church members by millions, it shall be that any that escape shall come to the works of Pastor Russell to learn the meaning of the downfall of 'Christianity'" (The Finished Mystery, 1917, p. 485).
