for JW's who have been sitting in the movie theater for many overlapping generations buying tubloads of popcorn and cola since 1914!!Everybody knows it's the selling of popcorn and colas that bring in the $$$$. The movie is just the excuse.
TWENTY FOURTEEN (2014) proves something if you pay attention...

Do JW's pay attention to the clock running on (returned) Jesus as King?

Unfortunately, someone switched out the cola for Kool-Aid a long time ago.

As a third generation JW stretching back to Russels time I know how "my generation" feels about this. Total frustration. It's the classic western movie scene where the trestle has been blown up and everyone on board knows the train most likely can't stop in time.
The only thing that could save JW's for a while is something they would identify as "the disgusting thing standing in a holy place".
That's a nice date independent event that is subject to just about anything you want to paste to it. It has two unknowns which makes it perfect for manipulation.

If only the Borg provided popcorn that would be something. But they don't provide anything. The Borg is a parasite; there is no symbiosis. The JDub is used up until they either wake up or die.

I do not believe there is another circumstance in life- whether waiting for a movie, train, bus- where people would apply the same patience in waiting for something as with waiting AN ENTIRE CENTURY for god's kingdom to 'take full effect.'
From what I heard at the DC, the new spin is that we're already 100 years into the kingdom, only 900 years to go!
How happifying!

Interesting idea. Jesus is back. This is his regime. Things are great. But, invisibly great!

I remember about 20 years ago pondering the date 2014. I even plugged the date October 1, 2014 into my calendar and told myself that if Armageddon did not come by then I was no longer going to be a witness. Fortunately, I did not wait to 2014.
Is there anything significant about 2014? Only that it is a guidepost to measure where we are as compared to where we hoped we would be. I am a strong believer in goals. I have some specific goals that will be accomplished by 2014. I have actually picked the date because of the historic significance (at least my history).
Goal one - Stay alive to 14... not quite the ring as the phrase I heard aroung 1975.
I will let you know my other goals on October 2, 2014.
