it seems trinitarians have trouble giving a simple answer to this (I thought) simple question..
Let me rephrase - according to your belief of what 'begotten' means, how many times was Christ begotten?

3.1416?
We do not have a problem, but monogenes (only begotten) is not the same as begotten in reference to His resurrection, etc.
The generation of the Son and procession of the Spirit is more Catholic, philosophical than explicitly biblical. We know the Son is uncreated. We know that WT is wrong about thinking beginning/firstborn/begotten has something to do with being created. We also know that Deity/humanity in one person is unique. We know parameters, not exhaustive details. We also know that He was the Christ from birth, not from baptism (WT error).

I have not counted. It depends on the context. He is the monogenes huious or theos from eternity. He was only resurrected from the dead once. Both are 'begotten' words, but different contexts/uses. There may be other uses such as his birth in Bethlehem. It is a moot point to me compared to understanding the semantic range of meaning of the English word (yet different Gk. words) and the various contexts.
I will stick to 3.1416 because I like pie.

Trinitarians are always railing on about Jesus being the only-begotten Son, in the sense of being God the Son, and possessing the nature/substance (whatever) of God. How many times was the Logos/Christ begotten in this sense?
