That is horrible. I keep imagining those little hands clutching her sister's skirt and it makes me cry. I realize that I am so lucky that my parents are too 'weak' to shun more than a week at a time.

I'm so glad to hear that. I bet Rebecca standing up to that kind of mental torment taught her younger siblings a valuable lesson. For those who are in a similar situation as she was, I say, just live your life and wait patiently. I waited for my precious baby brother for 18 years. My being out that long gave me the opportunity to help him make the transition when he decided to leave the cult. Our uber-dub mother shuns both of us now, but he's doing great!

I was going to say - that mother is a 'tool'... She COULD have let the disassociation/disfellowshipment go 'down' at the Kingdom Hall, with the elders doing their thing, but NO - she had to be the BIG SHOT and twist the knife deeper...

I fault the Watchtower Society for laying down the cult rules, but this bitch added to the nastiness and made sure that her daughter suffered EVEN MORE - if that vicious piece of work wasn't in the JWs, she'd have found some OTHER means of manipulating and hurting her children...
