To me the underlying messages are
Let's face it a ton of witnesses are just going through the motions. They listen to the FDS and they believe all of it on the surface but their actual lifestyles and choices show something different.

I don't think you have to go back even that far. Going through grade school and high school in the 70s, being a JW was like having a penis drawn on your forehead with a Sharpie™. You were the subject of ridicule, bullying and other forms of harassment - and the teachers and principals were in on it too. You got sent to the office for Taking a Stand for The Truth™ every other day.
JW kids today have it made, and they are just coasting along on the tears and embarrassment that my generation of JWs and prior generations of JWs experienced. They are pansies compared to how it used to be.
The insidious corruption of this bogus publishing corporation is truly astounding.

This week at the Serve-Us Meeting a brother commented that people that are depressed and discouraged need to get out in the ministry more to see and help people that are really suffering. My mom actually brought it up to me how annoyed she was by such an attitude. And this comment was coming from a brother that recently came off the piosneer list because of his health problems. Why didn't he go out more and get cured of his ailments?
