In 2030 China will be ahead of the U.S. economy: FACT. China is the second biggest economy, so how do you define world power? By economy or millitary might? Economy, U.S. #1, China, #2. Millitary might, U.S. #2, China #1. Hello.... ;D

The entire bullshit prophecy of the WTBTS is completely false - not like anyone who cares to think objectively hasn't seen for about twenty years.

Take them anti-depressants, watchtower bees. People get depressed for a reason - self-medicating on that overprescribed crap doesn't do you a damned thing other than keep your brain dead.

Gayle - The talks Will You Make Sacrifices for the Kingdom? Are You Behaving as a Kingdom Citizen? They acknowledged that many feel depressed while waiting for God's promises to be fulfilled yet they continue in God's service. They drew attn that those feelings are not new to servants of God. Job,Jeremiah, Hannah, and some of the anointed contended with feelings of depression. So ones can draw comfort from this. Others have felt like many of you do.

In the Kingdom Citizens talk the speaker brought out Epaphroditus was of the anointed & was depressed. Paul too dealt with worries for the cong and his own condition no doubt brought feelings of distress. Then he mentioned (1 Thessalonians 5:14) . . .speak consolingly to the depressed souls,. . . This was written to the anointed since cong. then were made up only of anointed ones. Being anointed does not make one immune to depression or spiritual weakness.

Ah designs, so he actually DID sign. We never held it up though. I know congress did not want to put themselves in subjection to the LON---that along with a incredibly hostile political climate at home made it impossible to ratify. Yes that makes sense. Thanks.

Being depressed about bad things is normal. Depression defined over the years has changed. Medicating to stay in a cult is just plain wrong.

    Depression can mean drugs.

    Self-medicating is pathetic.

That is why the leaders of the WTBTS don't let people get professional help for depression, or, rather, it is highly frowned upon. You are supposed to not talk about your religion in the sessions, and put strict guidelines up in advance of the sessions. Of course, not many JW's actually go and get professional help - they just find a doctor that will prescribe Prozac, Paxil, whatever poison makes their brain go dead so they can stay in the group.

Pardon me, another way of self-medicating is to be a weekend "buzz drunk", which is equally pathetic. Looking forward to Saturday night to get your buzz off a six pack (not quite drunk...) is sad too. I know how those idiots work, I used to do the same thing.

The other 'new light' I heard at my DC was with regards to us already being almost 100 years in to Christ's 1k reign, only 900 years to go!

I have just suffered the last two days at the DC but didn't hear this and I was listening for it as I had read the comment on this site recently.

Can you be more specific as to the talk involved?

Besides omitting the UN as the eighth king, they didn't discuss the King of the North. It is far more significant in prophetic fulfillment of end times prophecies than US/UK.

Do we see any governments or a powerful UN turning on false religion to destroy it? Nope. People get more religious in difficult times. Even China knows that it can only go "so far." The end is getting further away.

And as much as I hate to admit that Shamus is right, I used Lexapro and alcohol to numb the cognative dissonance. Fortunately, my big, juicy brain survived.
