Something that always confused me: Jesus had the nature of God, healed people, loved everyone, and spoke to sinners, even eating with them! Yet today he clearly doesn't heal anyone, and doesn't even speak directly to people who believe in him, let alone wicked people.. And, despite the scriptures that mention the Apostles performing powerful works greater even than well-renowned magicians, nobody does anything like that anymore, and the only evidence for belief in Jesus is contained in a very old book that God seemingly forgot to update with new info on blood transfusions etc. , that contains so many myths, errors and inconsistencies that very few seem to even believe it is entirely inerrant and inspired by God anymore. The Bible can't even seem to be proven to be historically accurate.. Why would Jesus stop proving that he exists by curing people, or has he lost interest in mankind? The imperfection/sovereignty issue/other excuses some may come up with should still have applied when he performed miracles, or when YHWH gave the Law on tablets and shook the mountains, and when he made a large pillar of fire to guide people in the wilderness etc.

Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by myself ... That unto me every knee shall bow
Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow
Think of it this way, Perry.
What if the first scripture had said "I have sworn by myself that every soldier shall salute the General."
Then, the second scripture said, "All soldiers must salute the Colonel."
Does the first one contradict the second one?
They are not mutually exclusive. Every person can bow to a wide variety of august personages! Or, salute a wide variety of officers.

Band on the Run
The Quiet One,
I have always asked myself the same questions. With my pain, why was I not special enough for Jesus to heal me now in the present. What was so special about three years in the first cenutry? I'm listening to Ehrmann, History of the Early Christian Church and the power is so palpable. C.S. Lewis and Jung addressed human suffering. C.S. Lewis changed his outlook dramatically after his wife died relatively young of cancer. The abstract is one thing. Your heart is another. Jung thought God was monstrous. Job is interesting b/c God appears out of the whirlwind but offers no decent explanation.
When I was near death, who created the crocodile is good poetry but not relief. The tears I shed. My pain brought me further from God, not closer. It did not leave me a miracle worker. I was not able to better witness to God's grace. Something monstrous is going on. Ah the free will glib answer. Be in excruciating pain and see what you think of the merits of free will. Why aren't the painful consequences of free will shared equally among humans. A loving creator allows droughts, famines, earthquakes, child abuse, rape, murder, cancer, parkinson's etc.
Let the free will proponents spend time as a hospice patient as I did. The free will as cause for my pain can go to hell.

Just want to add more
Jehovah is The Creator of ALL Things
Isaiah 44:24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
Jesus is The Creator of ALL Things (e.g., John 1:3; Col. 1:16-17; Heb. 1:2)
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Voila, now we have TWO Creators of ALL Things

You think you're the first person to die? You think you are the last?

Voila, now we have TWO Creators of ALL Things
Or, we have One Creator, of one substance, who can manifest himself in different ways.
The Hebrew word for “Spirit” is often translated as “wind” or “breath” in the Old Testament. The same word is found in Psalm 33:6 , where we again catch a glimpse of the Spirit’s work in creation: “ By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath [Spirit] of His mouth. ”
The next verse of this psalm continues, “ He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses ” ( Psalm 33:7 ). Certainly, this should remind us of how “ the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters ” in Genesis 1:2 .
If we look closer at the word “hovering,” we find that it conveys the idea of a bird sitting in a nest, hovering and brooding over her eggs, caring for the new lives. The same word is used to describe how “ an eagle stirs up its nest, [and] hovers over its young ” in Deuteronomy 32:11 .
What a beautiful picture of God preparing to bring life into the world through His Spirit! God designed all of creation for life—our life. “ By His Spirit [God] adorned the heavens ” ( Job 26:13 )
