Q is simply a hypothesis and there is no evidence that it ever existed.

The gnositc writing are all after the Gospels and letters of Paul, pastorals and Revelation.

We MAY indeed, one day, find the "missing piece" but untill then we MUSt be open to the FACT that this "missing piece" may just as easy CONFIRM the NT canon as it may cast doubt on it.

i gave up when I realised that the messiah spoken in the ot is not the same as in the nt, and the referrences christians give in the ot as prophet to Jesus didn't really apply to Jesus.

I recently came across this verse (Zech 12;10) while reading the NIV, and noting the odd structure (and difference between the rendering in the NIV, and many translations) and the New World Translation, I felt obliged to research it, which led me here, among other places. Leoleia's explanation and others, are very helpful. It seems as though the bottom line is that this verse is indeed very difficult to resolve, whether John's application of it is included or not.

This passage is so confusing to me that I've written and deleted several potential posts so far. I just don't know what to think. Reading this without seeing it as a prophecy towards Jesus, as I was trained to believe, makes me feel woozy and out of my element. I guess I need to read up on OT messianic stuff, because I don't understand what Zechariah could possibly have been talking about. Why would Israel ever feel sorry for their slain enemies, especially when they were 'seeking to annihilate' the Jews in 12:9? Are there any other verses in the OT that talk about sympathy for the enemy?

There is nothing in creation Or the New Creation, that has not got the influence of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, regardless of our theology of their "oneness".

In the Hebrew scriptures it is sometimes, Father, sometimes Son, sometimes Spirit that "speak", or spoken for.

    Collossians 1:

19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
