No, he couldn't have simply sent them out... because unless they were CONFINED... they would have simply found another to possess and torment. Water confines spirits (fire destroys them)... and so he had to get them INTO the water. Since spirits can only occupy LIVING things (so the WTBTS' very false teachings re books, furniture, toys, etc., is utterly ridiculous)... he had to send them into living vessels.

Is it really true jesus will give extra good karma if you make things up on a sunday?

AGuest, you made a lot of excuses for Jesus.

Sometimes things are as they seem at face value.

Or I guess not, since Jesus said he was trying to trick most people so they would go to hell.

Does it bother you thinking that you are saved and others are damned?

    Of course!

Tammy what's the difference here? The two statements seems contradictory or am I missing something?

"I don't think I'm saved and others are damned, so no.

I don't think everyone is saved though, and that does make me sad. Not because God is unjust or without mercy, because that is a lie. But because some will have chosen to hurt others and so reject peace and love... and they will never know what that peace and that love can be."

There are saints and sinners, sheep and goats, wheat and tares etc.

    John 3:16-18

    English Standard Version (ESV)

For God So Loved the World
16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
    John 5:24

    English Standard Version (ESV)

24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

I consider myself an inclusive Christian. I stick to the love & self sacrificing example of Christ while not putting my beliefs above anyone elses.
I believe one is to view and do onto others as you would want to them to view or do to you.

Not that I'm aware of, dear Bohm (peace to you!). Why do you ask? I ask YOU... because nothing in my statement was made up. True, it may not be delineated in detail in " the Bible", but so what? Since when is the Bible the ONLY source for knowing the mind of Christ? Even the Bible doesn't make that claim. Seriously, dear one... holy spirit trumps the Bible any day. Every day. Including Sunday.

AGuest, you made a lot of excuses for Jesus.

No excuses, dear Rebel8 (peace to you, as well!), truly. You made certain claims based on various Bible verses. Besides that fact that a couple didn't even relate to what you claimed (which could be considered slander and libel in some circles), you completely overlooked (1) the context, or (2) the circumstances, or (3) the truth of the matters. Why is it okay for you to make the false claims you did... but not for me to respond and counter them with the truth?

Sometimes things are as they seem at face value.

In that case, everything in the Bible should be taken at face value, yes? Surely, you don't believe that. Even I know better than that...

Or I guess not, since Jesus said he was trying to trick most people so they would go to hell.

Well, that's your take on it. If you believe that, though... it seems to ME that you would want to hurry up and get in with those he WASN'T trying to "trick", yes? Otherwise, you would also be among those so "tricked." Yes? But I'm thinking you DON'T believe that... in which case, I can't say I get why you're ridiculing something YOU don't even BELIEVE...

You know, dear ones, I get where those who don't believe the Bible would ridicule the WRITERS of certain things... but how can you rationally take issue with the One about whom certain things are WRITTEN, or things he is purported to have said... if you don't believe he existed/exists... or such things actually occurred/were SAID? That's just as ridiculous to me... as some of the off-the-wall teachings of the WTBTS... which are supposedly based on what's "written in the Bible"... but are not.

    Just sayin'... nohmsayin'?

    Again, peace to you!

YOUR servant and a slave of Christ,

Rebel8, Shelby (peace to you!) said everything I would have said concerning your understanding on some passages, and then some. So I don't really need to go point for point, though I wanted to when I first read this; I was just too tired. Concerning what you think about Christ 'approving' of OT cruelties, though, even Christ said that Moses gave some laws to the Israelites because THEIR hearts were hard. They couldn't do any better; they couldn't hear any better. As well, even in the OT, it is written that the lying pen of the scribes has mishandled the law.

But most importantly, as Shelby said... if you want to see God, then you must look at His Son. Christ didn't kill anyone; dash any baby heads against a wall, beat any slaves, start any wars. He asked his Father to forgive His trespassers. He healed his 'enemies'. He wept over Jerusalem.

Christ came as the Truth. If the truth was in the OT, then what need for Christ to come and teach at all?

Or I guess not, since Jesus said he was trying to trick most people so they would go to hell.

He never said that. But if that is what you read into the things that He said, as written, then I understand how you come to your other interpretations as well.

Tammy what's the difference here? The two statements seems contradictory or am I missing something?

Hi Stephen!!! I'm so glad to hear from you.

"I don't think I'm saved and others are damned, so no.

I think I was just responding in a literal way. I don't think I am saved over others. So the statement was untrue for me. I also don't think about anyone being damned.

I don't think everyone is saved though, and that does make me sad. Not because God is unjust or without mercy, because that is a lie. But because some will have chosen to hurt others and so reject peace and love... and they will never know what that peace and that love can be."

This is more of a general outlook. That not everyone will be saved (though they could be) is sad... for them to miss out, and so that makes me sad for them. It would also make God sad, I believe, and so that is sad as well.

    Peace and love to you,

    Tammy

Some people find Love in the bible while others find hate, such is the way we view things with our preconceived eyes and minds.

Both are right and both are wrong but it is up to each individual to find the "truth" for themselves.

No one knows who is saved and who is not, I can simply say, for myself that is, this:

Only those the REJECT Christ will have to deal with that act of rejection and to reject Christ one must first KNOW him and to know Christ is to KNOW Love, pure and unadulterated love.

Yes, some will still reject that, but that is up to them.

Many think they are rejecting christ when they reject what SOME people have made of him or they think they are rejecting Christ when they reject who THEY have made Him out to be.

Both will be pleasently surprised when the learn the truth about Him.

Amen, Brother Paul, Amen! And peace to you, my dear!

Yes! Unfortunately, though, the truth is some will also be not-so-pleasantly surprised. You know, like Cinderella's stepmother... when the crystal slipper fit her stepdaughter (which she kind of KNEW would happen... but just wasn't willing to believe it beforehand!). As some tell the story, though... Cinderella forgave even her stepmother. Same premise.

    Again, peace to you!
