i hadn't thought about plants, but yes your right, plant life on the earth would have gone.
But wheres the commandment to save the plants???? There isn't one and you would have thought it would be pretty importatant!?

Divine hibernation- the predators all went to sleep until is was time to leave the Ark. That must be what happened- bears are predators and they hibernate- and some of the animals liked it so much that they continue hibernating to this day.

If they were predators prior to, dear HD (peace to you!)... Adham wouldn't have been able to have the relationship with them that he had (so as to call them to him and name them)... nor would Noah have even been able to get them ON the Ark (if they didn't attack/eat HIM... they would have surely attacked/ate those animals that constituted prey).
At the time, however, they were ALL eaters of vegetation and so existed AT THAT TIME... in the state that they will RETURN to:
"The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. They will neither harm nor destroy in all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of JaHVeH as the waters cover the sea." Isaiah 11:6-9
Because DEATH will be no more. So there CAN'T be any eating of meat (what would provide it, without dying?).

Are we going to belive that they went without eating for 40 days and nights? Or the ridiculous theory as the WT would have it that Noah fed them nice tasty bales of straw which they happily munched on?
Here's what really happened:
The cockroaches ganged up and ate the dinosaurs, unicorns, and ground sloths. This explains why there are so many cockroaches now (only 2 entered the ark, but 28 billion left it...they had a head start on all the other critters) and also why there are no dinosaurs, unicorns, or ground sloths today.
