I'm glad that you're both positive and have found a way of life that contributes to your mental wellbeing rather than compromising it. That's pretty much all we can ask for. However, the title of the post is "watchtower will dissapear... now live your life". I agree that it will disappear, but I don't think it will happen by itself, and it will happen much more quickly if those who feel able contribute something meaningful towards its downfall. I don't see how making such contributions hinders me personally from living my life, although I will take heed of your warning that this could happen if I'm not careful enough. In the meantime, I want to do everything I can to bring this horrid cult crashing down sooner rather than later. The sooner it happens, the less people will get drawn in by it, including members of my own family in future generations.

What do most of us personally know about our own family members beyond our grand or great grand parents?
In 200 years, nobody on earth will even know that any of us even existed nor any of our loved ones trapped in the watchtower world.
All we have is the here and now.
As cyber said, until they are ready to break the bonds, there is nothing we can do to help them. If that happens, I will be there for them.

exactly, the point is not about doing or not doing anything. the point is that regardless of what we do..... good or evil.... all eventually will be gone. sooner or later the WT will be gone and all of the other cults and religions as well....
all the knowledge we worked so hard to obtain will be gone.

If you take the fact that our time is literally microscopic in the timeline of the planet....... and you realize we worry regarding the life span of the WT and when it is gonna end..... well we are wasting our time. The WT is gonna dissapear. TRUST me it will, along with all the civilization as we know them.... eventually all we have its gonna be gone.
No extinct civilizations have had technology like us that empowered the individual so much. The fact that you and I get to speak with such conviction in a public place is due to solutions that had their beginnings eons ago. You need to continue stepping backwards and look at the timeline even broader and it won't be as grim. What you give the negative connotation of "extinct" I give the possitive of "necessary." I feel a connection with those "microscopic" people you speak of because when we read what they wrote down about themselves we see that they had similar problems to us. Sometimes we also read that they had problems that are now solved. I find comfort in that because I know that the problems we have now, no matter how insurmountable they may seem, likely have solutions if we dig deep enough and honest enough. It's unfortunate that, so far, a single civilization can't learn how to function properly before fading to time, but alas, that's the way it's always been.

My parents are over 60 and to be honest they are better off inside the Cult than outside... getting them out will only benefit ME but not them.
Cyber makes an important point. Had this same discussion with my non-JW sister...our parents are in their 60s, been Dubs their entire lives. I think they live a miserable life but removing them the Org now...well, I just don't know how they'd fare. At their age, I can't imagine the emotional and mental repercussions if the blindfold was removed.
As for actively trying to "take down" the WT....its just not for everybody. I want those bastards to fry as much as anyone else. But some need to move on and away to heal. Then there's some who have moved on and healed, and then dedicate their time and energy to bringing down the Org and helping others. I admire these ones greatly - thinking of ones like cantleave, MadSweeney, Lady Lee, leavingwt, etc. There's many others, but those came to mind.

extinct is not negative.... its positive. its necessary. The volcanoes exploded, we have now diamonds. the dinosaurs died, we have now coal and petroleum, the planets exploded and we how hydrogen, iron, helium, etc etc etc.
its a fact of life.... of the universe.
we may have technology to store what we have achieved..... that is great.... but for me personally that technology will do me no good in 100 years. i will be gone and with that the only thing of me left will be, maybe some binary code inside a memory stick....

There is no reason to believe that we share their fate, imo. We just have control of so many variables whereas they had control of nadda.
