Tasked with hiring a new employee, iff you were looking through potential employee candidates and you were asked to pick one to hire, would knowing one is a JW put that candidate in a negative light?
Would you hire a JW?

It would depend on the position I needed filled ... If I was looking for a janitor or window washer ... that would be a good thing.

It depends. Being a JW and working in a job where "conscience matters" keep coming up, could be a real drag for an employer.
If a JW was devout and honest, I'd have no problem trusting him in being truthful and honest.

hard to tell. JWs are told not to work too much, they are spending much time in service instead of recreating and should also spread their religion at their job. some follow that advice - and some don't. discriminating because of religion might also get you into trouble with the law. i would definately not base my decision only on someones religion.

I would have no problem hiring a JW. However, I would make it clear to him or her that aggressive proselytizing would not be permitted on the job. So while I would have no objection to their refusal to participate in holiday celebrations/observances and sharing their reasons for this, I would say that coin has two sides. That means no distributing of WTS literature at work and no derogatory remarks about the religion, beliefs, or creeds of coworkers.

When hiring it is only right you choose the person best qualified, has the best experience and is going to fit the culture of your organisation.
If a JW was the best fit for the job they would be offered it. However, I might just mention that I am a mentally diseased apostate, he / she would then probably disqualify themself.

If I could make the decision, no, I want to keep clear of JWs. Also they are numerous downsides like being told biweekly that working hard or making a career is going to end you up in a fiery lake of eternal destruction. That doesn't really motivate people. They don't have spare time for getting more education, which nowadays is a must in any serious job field apart from window washing.
