That kid was me (not literally). I used to stand on a 5-gallon bucket to give my talks, starting at the age of 5. This is bringing up some seriously negative feelings right now. Fuck.

I'm deadly serious now.
Is this child abuse?
Is it?

These pictures are all giving me negative feelings. That kid leaving is me. I didn't exactly leave home physically. But I checked out emotionally and mentally. My parents allowed me to stay until I had a college degree and could support myself. I realize I am luckier than some. But the emotional and spiritual wounds have never healed.

OUTLAW
Lots of us were stuck up on stage just like that..

Wow! This thread has even got OUTLAW expressing emotion.
It just goes to show that many of us had our childhood adversely influenced and memories of that crucial stage in our lives are still very much with us and probably always will be.
We've all suffered together and so we all relate to each other.

Actually I'm personally shocked that you see children of the age of 5 or 6 giving talks these days.
What is up with that ?
The youngest ones I can remember were about 12 or 13 years of age.
and yes I was a born in.
It does kind of speak of child exploitation and perhaps abuse.
Unfortunate as that may be the parents of those kids must have their chins held high because their kid is being
looked upon as being spiritually zealous, which for all tense and purposes makes themselves glow among the congregation.
The foolishness of pride and personal stature at the Kingdom Halls..

With respect, learning to speak in public was one of the things i appreciated the cult for.... I was on the stoll at age 5 too.... Its not the worst thing ever, and damn sure not worse than knocking on doors

It was abuse--spiritual abuse.
