I think PunkofNice has a point: This article seems intended to boost the word count for "Jesus" for anyone who does a word search on WTBTS publications ; otherwise its content is as bland as pablum.

Hmm... A Watchtower article (2 actually) centering on Christ.
Quite unusual for this bunch. Usually "the one true Christian religion" mentions Jesus only in passing.
Oh well I guess they have to make sure the rank & file don't forget who Jesus is. So they write him up once or twice a year.
Kind of like the Beatles letting one of Ringo's songs onto their albums every once in a while.

To the article, I say "Whoopie ding-dong". Make a bunch of predictions, wait long enough for someone to sort of fit them all, tidy up the predictions by altering them somewhat to make them seem to fit exactly, and present them all in a disjointed fashion as "proof" that Jesus was something special. The biggest way to prove this is his damn works--and the Washtowel seems to be ignoring those. Works--what did Jesus do? Was Jesus actually excellent in teaching people the truth? If that was the case, that would be enough. You don't need to make crap up to fit in, wait for someone to sort of fit it, and then tidy up the predictions.
Not to mention the presentation is so lousy that no one could benefit. The plethoria of brackets (meaning additions to the text) indicates that they are themselves tidying up what was in the Bible to fit their own doctrines. All the while, they hide other supporting documents like the Gospel of St Thomas. A presentation like this could hardly get anyone to draw closer to Jesus--even if they wanted to. Intentionally confusing the flock so they feel they need the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger to interpret the Bible for them is not what Jesus had in mind about teaching people.

So who is it aimed at? Jewish people who need to be convinced that he was The Messiah? I would have thought that few of those would be open to being convinced. Most Christians view Jesus as what he is anyway, but there you go......they have to provide an article every week...
Just something though that I found interesting..
15 The Messiah would be given vinegar and
gall. “For food they gave me a
poisonous plant,” said the psalmist,
“and for my thirst they tried to make
me drink vinegar.” (Ps. 69:21) Matthew
tells us: “They gave [Jesus] wine
mixed with gall to drink; but, after tasting it,
he refused to drink.” Later, “one of them ran
and took a sponge and soaked it with sour
wine and put it on a reed and went giving
him a drink.”—Matt. 27:34, 48.
Certainly at the Hall where we were the thought was put out how nasty they were making him drink vinegar, as implied in Ps 69, but the Insight bk says - Page 1157
When Jesus Christ was on earth, the Roman soldiers drank a thin, tart, or sour, wine known in Latin as acetum (vinegar), or as posca, when it was diluted with water. This was likely the drink offered to Jesus Christ while he was on the torture stake. Jesus refused the sour wine drugged with myrrh (or gall) that was presented to him to alleviate his suffering. (Mr 15:23; Mt 27:34; compare Ps 69:21.) However, just before he expired, he received plain sour wine from a sponge when it was put to his mouth.
So perhaps someone took pity and offered what they had?
