In Canada, it varies from cong to cong but also the west was looked down upon as there were more "rebels" in the west - I guess I preferred the wild west and thus I'm out of the cult. I also think that the closer you are to the cult's branches the more BS you have to live with, while further away the less cultish people are. Just an observation.

Totally agree with you PunkofNice: It was my observations in the congregation I attended in Florida and the strictness of UK congregations that made me think deeply about whether this was a Spirit directed organisation or one ruled by the foibles and preferences of men.
Although I appreciated the "scenary", I was embarrassed in Field Service by the 16 year old who accompanied me... ankle bracelets and a mini belt (not even in the Kings Road, had I seen anythng worn so short!) with a low plunging neck line... no wonder she had a substantial "Route" call.
I am very surprised that the U.S hasn't had a West Coast/East Coast split... JW's out west seem to get away with a lot that Brits. find astonishing.
I came back to Bethel from that trip with a rather stunning looking moustache. The Branch Committee met and decided I had to take it off. Meanwhile I was dealing with extreme family problems, in large part precipitated by that dictatorial and Plutocratic regime.
It seemed we had to follow everyone else' regime, and were not allowed to use our own. Result? WT Clones

Heartofaboy – Bristol worldly? I like good bristols!! (that’s a UK joke BTW)
Inquiryman – Ho hum! A unified organization my arse!
BOC – It’s all down to men at the end of the day.
DaCheech – I must visit California for some good old Californication!!
WTWizard – Love your posts! The WBT$ are lead by a bunch of uneducated buffoons with delusions of adequacy! Perhaps they’ll advocate fasting over Christmas so as not to ‘stumble’ a potential cash giver study!
Cantleave – I didn’t hear of the Smurf thing either here in the UK.
Trailerfitter – LOL. Nah, UKer. Perhaps it’s because I use the words ‘Bladdy’ and ‘Bugger’! New Zealand sounds nice though!
Bluesbrother – The counting of time is strict in the UK….until you chat with the pious-sneers who just seem to make it up as they go along.
DoC – Yeppers…I’m deffo visiting the US!
Cedars – Yes. The GB are their God…..and they can’t see it.
BotR – Interesting US experiences.
Diamondiz – This seems to be a reoccurring theme. The closer you get to bethel the tighter it gets. A bit like the closer you get to a radioactive bomb hole is the more dangerous it is!
Podobear – Blimey, a 16 year old in provocative clothing…or lack of it.
It all shows me it’s simply a man’s religion. A pious-sneer I know was given ‘loving admonition’ because she had too many ear-rings and yet it was totally permissible in the congregation she came from!
bOrg leaders = Bladdy twots!
