The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses was only created about 11 years ago to deal with U.S. interests. They are quite correct when they say that it doesn't technically exist in Australia.
And even historically, people have tried to pull CCJW into lawsuits but have always failed (in one case because the dumb accuser didn't realize that CCJW was created about 15 years after the alleged events named in his suit took place and therefore had nothing to do with it).

If nothing else, this case should reveal to the world exactly what the legal relationship is between the Governing Body, the FDS, the CCJW, and the other corporations, if any. Exactly who told the elders in Victoria NOT to get background checks and exactly who changed their mind and told them TO get the background checks? What was their authority to do so, both legally and religiously?
Very tricky and somewhat devious to surround your organization with different names to avoid liability in law suits and create any financial advantage.
Those Watchtower lawyers are as crooked as the rest of the organization when it comes to sustaining the WTS. but I guess thats what they are
being paid for.
Interesting the "one true Christian religion" only officially adopted the word "Christian" into one of its official monikers for purely legal reasons.

I hope the court has the foresight to simply ask them if there are any Jehovah's Witnesses in Australia and if they have any congregations there. It truly boggles the mind (well, not really) that the slime known as the "Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses" and who claim to be God's sole channel of communication between heaven and earth, can actually sleep at night given what a bunch of liars and scumbags they are.....

You and several others still seem rather confused over this. The counsel wasn't talking about congregations or Witnesses in general -- they were referring to a very specific U.S. legal entity officially titled "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses." And in that sense, they were correct in saying that it does not exist in Australia, because it is a U.S. entity made to deal primarily with U.S. interests.

BUT IF that U.S. corporation is sending letters to Watchtower Society of Australia OR to any _____________ Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Victoria, Australia and those corporations and congregations defer to its directives, then even without an official local presence, IT DOES exist in Australia.

If the Borg, in the name of CCJW, is directing the Australian corporations and congregations, and those corporations and congregations obey those directives, then it exists in Australia. If it is NOT, then the question arises: Just what relationship DOES the WTS of Australia and the various local Congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses HAVE with the HQ in New York, USA?
I can't imagine the GB saying there is NONE because that would be abdicating their God-given authority over the "belongings" worldwide. And if there IS a relationship, then THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE for the activities of their underlings to whatever extent the law determines.

You are not understanding why RvW said "there is no CCJW in Australia" - it's a technicality in name only!!!!!!!
No one is disputing that the JWs exist in Australia. They operate under the name of the WTS, not CCJW.
Why is that so hard for people to grasp????
