Lawrence is driven by his cause. If he was a crook, he'd be a lot slicker.
Folks, he lost his daughter and is angry and has little else to live for.
His efforts appear desperate... and I personally have never received ever so much of a "thank you" from, him either, no matter how much I advertise his case and try to raise him some money. And I am not in favor of his latest efforts to "buy" the case. Come on, Lawrence, get some class and express some thankfulness towards others. Some people act as if we are obligated to support their cause.
I AM NOT. Neither are any of you. MOST of us have suffered a lot, some more than you, Lawrence.
Like the average person, if I give of myself or my money, I at least expect a "thank you." I made $14 a month at Bethel for 6 years and gave $5 per month as a tithe, my own decision. I gave up seeing a movie every month for that.
I believe the WT at least sent me a standard "Thank you" letter.
Many ex-JWs in ministry and who have "causes" have failed and are broke to this day because they do not know how to say "Thank you!"
For such persons, mark my words: You will not succeed unless you are independently wealthy. No one is going to support you.
My suggestion: Get a life and move on. You obviously are not skilled at dealing with people.
Lawrence, if you are too burned out by all of this, then you need a big vacation. Learn how to interreact with other people. You are not a pariah that deserves anything if you can't express appreciation in a simple card or note.
I am used to not receiving thank yous from people I donate to. But they should not expect to receive another donation from anyone, ever. It's INSULTING. It's called bad manners...
...but don't assume he is corrupt. Lawrence is legit.
But so are many of us.
Just don't become a lone martyr. You will be miserable the rest of your life.
You need to heal and get beyond the anger.
with all due respect,
Randy Watters
