Babtised Publishers. This is the number of baptized individuals who partake in the preaching work worldwide. Does this total represent the number of all preachers on earth? Not necessarily. A number of factors-including past religious beliefs or even mental or emotional imbalance-might cause some to assume mistakenly that they have the ability to teach. We thus have noway of knowing the exact number of publishers on earth; nor do we need to know. The Governing Body does not keep a list of all true witnesses, for it will not maintain from this year forward, a global report of the preaching activity. Aug. 15, 2012 WT pg. 22

Actually, Momma is perfectly right - the annual report on worldwide time is made up wholly from scraps of toilet paper.

Those old service reports were actually softer than most commercial toilet paper in public restrooms.

    Good point.....

I know why they are going to discontinue the annual report. It is embarrassing to see so many good countries with negative growth. Their former showcase, Japan, for one. And, if they can't differentiate between 7.5 million genuine members and 7.5 million fake time slips and coerced field circus reports, the stats are misleading.

Now, if only I could find how many they are losing in the United Tyranny of Stupidity (formerly, the United States of America) versus other countries. Or, I could propose that their real numbers are between 3 and 4 million--I believe they were more sincere during the push of the mid and late 1980s than anything since then. Especially if you have a minimum age of 18 to qualify, I bet there would be a substantial drop.

That just doesn't make too much sense... surely it's better to say "these are the figures and there are yet more which can't get reported because of restrictions" etc,.

To dispense with the report that has been almost there for ever looks suspicious - likes there's something to hide.
