My ex gilead friend told me when she was diagnosed with PTSD that a fellow missionary comforted her by saying "there are many missionaries taking anti-depressants so there is no shame in needing help. Missionary life is tough."
They are an expensive investment. I'm surprised they took this long to do away with the school. Plus there are still many JW's willing to move where the need is greater so why pay for missionaries when people are still willing to sacrfice for free.
most ones going to "where the need is greater" return within a few years also, unless some move to very "americanized" English-speaking communities. But how much they are really 'blending' in with the foreign people is quite questionable.
Perhaps the WTBTS should train them to Occupy People homes until they convert to JW's.

well u did better than I ever could. I can't listen to more than 5 minutes of it before I just get ill. It's that obnoxious sense of entitlement that digs at me. They feel entitled and qualified to critique education outside of the WT/awake. The comments at the WT are what really get to me. "Those in the world are without any moral standards, whatsoever". gag I can still here that sisters comment.
the JW girl that i know told me yesterday that when they left the "zone meeting" everyone was talking about how this would be the only zone meeting ever because the society is preparing and the big A would be o so soon.... i was about to spill my drink laughing but i kept my cool!

What they really mean is that they are throwing desparation tactics out so fast that they have to abandon them faster than ever when they don't work out......and here's another one of them.
I (and many of you) have been to pioneer school. All I got out of it was: Use the Watchtower Library to answer all your questions, act like you are extremely interested in people and pay enough attention to what they say so you can figure out the best Watchtower method to trick them into a study. I already knew how to use the WT Library and the other thing, so I knew that "Jehovah's blessings" were not on me to pioneer. But it is convenient for someone who already went to college to say stuff like that and indicate that people should skip college. That's just a suck-up.
