I'd like to call lurker ’s attention to the need of being discreet when contemplating joining or staying in the the JW religion. My general observations on active JW's and how their lives are going. The majority of them relate many beautiful ways their lives have turned out after joining but they refused to mention how rough and tough the journey truly is., Here in America, we have received reports of many Jws who terminated their lives because of the difficulty of coping with the cultish shunning and abandoment of those they love. these reports are becoming numerous lately and I wouldnt want anyone to walk down that hideous path because of an aggresive need for ”security”. I repeat again, of what value is that security if it comes along with loneliness, depression, sleepness nights and many horrible circumstances?. Please tell me what is the big deal about that security?
Some will use scare tactics, and try to stir up your insecurities or warn you of possible suicide to try and bully you to stay in. They will post these threads as though they are truly concerned, and as though they have deeply researched outcomes. They will urge lurkers to turn back to the security of the miserable known and not risk the uncertainty of freedom. These people are trolls that are working on your insecurities, and as all good JW's, highlighting the negatives and dismissing the positives. Be afraid they say, the journey could be rough! Bad things may happen. In effect suggesting that turning away from that journey is safer, things will work out well, and you will never ever get depressed, if you just let the WT tell you what to think and how to feel. Self determination can be such a drag!
Unfortunately for most of these victims, their therapist had little or no knowledge about what really goes in the JW religion, so the assistance they offered didnt prove very helpful, they were completely handicapped in helping the matter, they couldnt comprehend what such terms as armaggedon, inactive publishers and many more mean, so their help was not so practical.
Every pm I have ever received has confirmed how happy the individual was to walk away from the evil cesspool of the WT. While admitting that sometimes the journey is a tough one, the exhilaration of freedom and being out from mind control is worth the pain. Sometimes the greatest things are gained through the heaviest struggle.
Even the JW's who no longer believe find themselves trapped in this authortitative group, and find themselves quietly going to meetings and keeping silent for fear that this cult will carry out their ultimate threat, taking away everyone they love. The troll will try to convince you that you are not up to the battle, that you are weak. Tell it to get behind you, because you are strong! The WT has been lying to you. You have strength within. Don't let a disingenuous manipulative troll try to convince you otherwise. You will be amazed at how much strength you really have.
Ask yourself, What kind of Life did reknowned JW's like Rutherford lead?, I read up on his personal life and he was a drunk. What about Charles Taze Russel (The messiah for JWs), how is his personal life, have you researched it?. He dabbled in spiritism and his marriage was a farce. Were they examplary figures to follow?, Is it really worth keeping what you currently have, you should know where you will be heading if you continue reading WT literature as though they are some channel from God. Please, dont make rash decisions, examine the destination of the journey before you embark on it?. And if you've already found yourself on this dismal path that ended in the Kingdom Hall, run away. We will help you!
