Cofty, take heart my friend, it is only the good that go young, you are such an evil bugger you will be here when the WT is no more, Wobble has read the runes, you will be O,K Fight the Fight my friend, it is yours for the taking.
Positive vibes will constantly be sent to to you from Wobble Mansion. (that name is a little pretentious, when I have done this place up, it will be a hovel!)

(((Crofty ))) Sorry to hear what you will be facing . Keeping a positive informed outlook is crucial .
I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery my friend .
I have surgery tomorrow , and am anxious for the final outcome . So far two normal cancer screening blood tests , but the Doctor warns me there still is possibility, and we will only know after pathology comes back .

Cofty, Your oncologist will want to see all the pathology reports following surgery, so that by the time you meet with him or her, the proper "cocktail" of chemo can recommended to you. That's what oncos do. Make sure after your surgery you get copies of your pathology reports and learn the language used in them. I know this is not something we really like to be educated about. I never had the desire to research cancer, but once you know all the pathology and discuss it with your onc, you will definitely feel more in control when your onc comes up with your treatment plan. You will need someone very close to go to your appointments with you.

Sorry to hear what you're up against. You weren't too specific, but in many ways it doesn't matter. The Big C is never good.
Still, often good things can come out of any experience if we have the right attitude and know where to look.
My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 1/2 years ago. (We were just dating at the time).
Of course she was mortified at the initial diagnosis, but many surgeries and radiation treatments later she was pronounced "clean" of all cancer. (She basically had a complete mastectomy of her left breast. Three reconstructive surgeries later and she looks pretty good again.)
In the meantime, she re-examined who and what mattered to her. Now she says her life is much better because of the new perspective she has.
She often refers to her cancer as a blessing.

I am a breast cancer surviver. I had chemo. The first one was bad enough, but for me, each treatment got worse. The second to the last one was demonic. I told the doctor, I can't do another. He prescribed a new drug to treat the nausea. It worked really good. I don't remember the name of it, I'm sorry. I did not have radiation, but I heard, it's not so bad. Drink plenty of water before during and after! Do NOT wait till you are thirsty.
