Exactly my point, NewChapter. A very ugly gang of thugs.
Anybody care to guess about what they have on John Travolta and Tom Cruise?

I think Cruise is a true believer. I always suspected Travolta was being held hostage. No proof understand. Maybe we could rifle through their trash to get the answers.

Or, just break into their headquarters. That's what they did to the IRS when L. Ron Hubbard was being audited.
Yup. Preserving the memory of Isaac Hayes, all right.
I was actually thining of a totally differen't episode, from years before, the one that Isaac Hayes refused to be a part of. I had no idea that the show was still on.
I'm hooked on Google's archive news search as of late. The amount of articles on extortion, indictment, spying, and other shady activities associated with Scientology is suprising. I didn't know they've been associated with dirt for so long. Crazy.
Forever. I remember when they came out against Prozac and had all these articles written on the dangers of it. Phil Donahue was still on, and he had a show on it. The scientologists filled the audience, and anytime anyone said anything about them, or anything they disagreed with, they would do this weird collective laugh--like isn't that person silly kind of laugh. It was really weird and cultlike. That was over 20 years ago.

But I think you were right - there was some tie-in with Scientology. Wasn't Isaac Hayes the voice of the "chef" character?
I couldn't find the paxil episode, but here is another one.

This is really surprising, I had no idea how long they've been pulling this kind of behavior!!!!! There's so many articles, that I just don't have time to read each and every one of them, but jeez Louise!!! The titles are as follows..........
11/24/1979 Scientologist Plots to Frame Writer
11/27/1980 Scientology Members Convicted of Burglary
8/29/1978 Scientology Members Plead Not Guilty to Charges of Infiltrating Goverment
2/17/1981 Scientology Spokesman Makes Another Attempt to Avoid Jail
5/17/1978 Agents Siezed "Enemies List" in Scientology Raid
4/18/1980 Scientology Officials Jailed For Ignoring Subpoenas
5/30/1980 Scientology Plot to Smear Official
Sheesh, they're more brash than street or prison gangs.
I have some insight to this as a good friend is ex-Scientology from a high level (Sea Org).
He is still hesitant to use his name openly to criticise them, and I think for good reasons.
