    Lurkers,

Are you a victim of Information Control? I was. I spent almost seven years at Brooklyn Bethel. During this time, I never knew that a former member of the Governing Body wrote a book detailing his personal crisis of conscience.

Take control of your future. Please don't allow anyone to control the information that you have access to.

Read what this former Governing Body member had to say about his time at Bethel, and what he experienced after he left Bethel.

Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz, nephew of former WT President, Fred Franz

http://www.commentarypress.com/Detail/eng_crisis_e.html (The book is available at this link as a password-protected PDF file. You can also find it in many local libraries.)

If you're scared to read this book, this is perfectly normal. You've been warned that any literature that criticizes WT is from Satan the Devil. This is a scare tactic, designed to control the information that you have access to.

    Welcome!

LEAVING WT- Good thread. Lurkers, I can attest that you will enjoy this book. It confirmed what I had suspected about the WT society for years , yet when I opened my mind to finally read this book - I was still blown away that many things going on behind the scenes had been hidden and not revealed to me at WT studies on Sundays. So do yourself a favor - I highly recommend you read this so you have ACCESS to this information so you can make an INFORMED decision on your outlook and life. Happy reading ! Good luck to you, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Welcome lurkers. If you don't want to read (or don't like to read), here is a video of Raymond Franz speaking to people in the Czech Republic . I'm sorry that Raymond Franz is dead, because he seems a lot nicer and more honest than any GB member who you will ever meet.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

When I learned that a former member of the Governing Body had written a book, I felt like I had lived behind the iron curtain my entire life. A creepy feeling that makes you wonder what else has even hidden from you...

For those who may be fearful of taking such a step . . . just read a page or two at random on-line perhaps. You will soon gauge for yourselves if it has the ring of truth. The humble honesty of Ray Franz shines through immediately. Trust your instincts. You need this information.

Good comments above, and good thread LWT !

If you are a JW, you believe that you have the truth, but is some truth being witheld from you ?

If what we are inviting you to consider in Rays book is not true then it easily disproved and you can discount it and forget it.

If it is true, why should you not be in possesion of this truth ?

XLNT LWT!! (Leavingwt that is, not to be confused with 'London Weekend Television').

I was given information when I was a JW but couldn't make the connection. I thought I had the 'truth' although it felt a bit strange at times and not so 'truthy'.

What I never understood was why we were given the scripture: Pilippians 4:6,7 about the 'peace of God' etc YET no matter how much I did in the 'ministry', 'studying the watchtower's doctrine' or prayed, I never felt ANY peace of God. Not a jot!

I had read parts of CoC but I still couldn't make the connection that the JW's were NOT the one true religion and it was all a sham. Once I saw through the 'thought reform' it all made sense. I had the feeling that I'd just woken up from a dream state.

Underneath my JW persona it was still me. I didn't change. I didn't set up a shrine to Satan. I didn't 'sin' as according to JW rules.

Yes I was angry. Why? Because I hated myself fo being duped and hate the watchtower for fooling me so badly.

I'm not an 'angry apostate' any more that someone who has been conned, robbed and betrayed by someone they trust is angry. It's justified not satan!

Remember that scene in The Wizard of Oz where Toto pulls back the curtain.

The professor furiously manipulates his smoke and fire controls and yells, "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!!!"

That's exactly what the GB is doing when it tells JWs to refuse to read anything written by former Bethelites, especially Raymond Franz.

They don't want JWs to see that they are nothing but fallible men pretending to be some supernatural figure that they are not.
