1914 is being mentioned less & less now. ( Franz spoke about how the GB rarely completely changed a failed prophecy - their strategy was just to stop taking about it & the "brothers quickly forgot"). The generation idea has been kicked into the long grass with the "overlapping generations" idea. There is always enough trouble in the world (euro crisis , tsunami in Japan , Iran's nuclear threat etc) to keep the JWs worried & the WTBTS exploits this. I doubt 2014 will have much effect - maybe just at the margin , the last straw for a few already disillusioned JWs. Those who really believed in it are all elderly now & have nowhere else to go.
