So ("brother) Prince is coming to town and he is quoted as saying that "as a baptized Jehovah's Witness he has put his past behind him". On one hand he is allowed to put on such a concert that the GB states that baptized Jehovah's Witnesses should not go to. Would the GB frown on (brother) Prince attending his own concerts? Would they says is okay for him to "be" in such a concert but frown upon him "watching" his own concert on DVD?

Maybe it is not irony but just plain up your ar** stupidity from both extremes of Prince and the Paupers (GB)

I think it's just a matter of time before Prince moves on to another cult/religion/following. He never stays with one for too long. And then you'll have JW's doing the same thing with Prince that they did with Michael Jackson.

On another note, I believe the reason these celebs get a free pass, whereas the normal pissant rank and file do not, is a simple thing indeed. MONEY. Donations, donations, donations. They can't risk telling Venus and Serena Williams that they dress too provocatively, nor can they tell Katherine Jackson she should not celebrate her birthday or accept gifts...and they can't tell Prince to tone it down, or else. They cannot risk losing donations from millionaires.

Actually, the GB hasn't said anything about going to concerts. There are many JW's that go to concerts. Enven Bethelites go to concerts. Ifr you like his music, treat yourself to a ticket and go and enjoy it.

Really its not that its the publicity that they are scared of. They let prince and the williams sisters get away with 'double lives' that most dubs would be hauled to the back room for because they are scarded of the public backlash that would come.

kinda ironic for the group that once declared they would ADVERTISE ADVERTISE ADVERTISE the king and his kingdom.

Quarterback: Correct the GB never says you cannot, but the elders at convention, talks, assemblies, etc have no problem saying such. Elders = the GB mouthpiece to say they things they cannot. I was told that long ago in my early years as an elder.

Many, many, many elders have seen Prince in concert. People in this organization do what they want to do. Period.

Please. In my day, watching the Beatles on Ed Sullivan was a forbidden pleasure. Once I had some cash, I attended concerts. It always had to be done covertly. I will never get off MJ grabbing his crotch so certainly and holding it for what seemed an eternity. If I tried that, I'd be dead.
