Wow! That last quote from Dawkins--ha ha! Talk about devious! Man! There's just no end to the treachery!

DONTPLACELITERATURE - I felt similarly as you did as a kid. What's the big deal? Now knowing its pretty much made up, I still wonder ,What IS the big deal. I think you should enjoy this little bit of life's irony privately and ditch the idea of a letter. It will accomplish nothing bu an unneeded hassle for you.

PS not near a WT library right now, but there was an article about the cross in maybe the last couple years with a picture of a stakes from a book in Latin. I found the book online, and there are a few dozen pictures of different types of cross.

That same book is quoted in the back of the Reference Bible, with the picture. I think Paul refers to it on the JWFacts site.

The cross shit, and other teachings are all about "we are diffrent", and thus having to drill "they're wrong, because we are right".

Mis-quotes are important, because faithful witnesses will not look up the sources.

I refrenced this in my initial post, but I'll add the above link for posterity. I can't praise people like Alleymom, AnnOMaly, Doug Mason, kurtbethel and others on this thread highly enough. So much legwork has been done. Most enlightening were the responses of R. H. Sack and John Steele, who were misrepresented.

    Keep it coming!
