Do you think that we are in the last days?

People who post here I have noticed won't even try to understand different points of view, but God should save people who hate him? Or even worse God should save people who get other people to doubt him? Why?

Why can't God speak for himself? Why does he allow crackpots with hallucinations, and unscrupulous characters to speak on his behalf? Why can't God check in briefly to dispel all of the misconceptions and doubts people have of him? Why does he have to wait until it's time to destroy everybody or punish them in hell, before confirming for all the doubters that he exists?

    N. drew, I take hours and hours to meditate upon your comments and try to understand them. (Please accept my hyperbole.) I am confident that you think more than you write and maybe speak outloud, assuming we heard what you said or know what you thought. We don't hear or know those things, so we are left to guess.

OTWO when what happens, sun exploding or sun not exploding?

When a dead person is resurrected or the sun is replenished. That's what I meant.

You won't even comment on the "who is the last poster thread".

Here's a fine example: You probably think I heard what you said or know what you mean. I don't have a clue what that comment is about.

As far as these questions are concerned:

If the children of God do not live to the time of the end, why would God save earth? Should God save earth for wicked people and them who hate him? Would you?

I am not going to participate in your fantasy beyond stating that your questions are (in my opinion anyway) based on faulty premises.

Why can't God speak for himself? "You must be holy because I am holy."

Why does he allow crackpots with hallucinations, and unscrupulous characters to speak on his behalf? I don't know.

Why can't God check in briefly to dispel all of the misconceptions and doubts people have of him? Uh, this sounds like question number one.

Why does he have to wait until it's time to destroy everybody or punish them in hell, before confirming for all the doubters that he exists? God doesn't have to do anything. It's never the time to destroy anyone. I think hell is a myth, but death is what we would like to see vanguished. Destroying people doesn't comfirm anything.

OTWO your right. I was advertising another thread. I want it to be the longest continual thread. I don't know why. So I can't help you. So sorry sir.

The "last days" idea has evolved into big business. I remember last year walking into a Barnes and Noble and there was a whole table filled with 2012 books. Not this year, but a full two years from the supposed "day" here are at least 20 books on the end of the world. The cats who wrote those books are gonna be laughing all the way to the bank 20 years from now. They will be telling their grandkids stories "I remember back in 2009, there was all this speculation about the end of the world coming in three years. Well I wrote a book on the end of the world, became a millionaire, and took the next 30 years off from working."

The presidents of the WT, the current GB, and future leaders of the WT will do the same, for as long as it will last.

"You must be holy because I am holy."

Peter said that referring to the Law if I'm not mistaken, right? Funny how in the beginning of one of his letters, he was warning fellow Christians of ridiculers making the argument that things are as they were in the days of their forefathers, and to be careful of such talk. Then he died, and the people that read his letters died. People have been reading his letters for the past 2000 years, and guess what? They've been dying for that long too, and the end still isn't here.

God doesn't have to do anything. It's never the time to destroy anyone. I think hell is a myth, but death is what we would like to see vanguished. Destroying people doesn't comfirm anything.

God allowing crackpots with hallucinations, and delusional followers making poor attempts at defending a No-Show God especially when we need him the most, doesn't confirm much of anything either. I still have some faith, and I'm not ready to say I'm an unbeliever yet, but I'm wondering if for the past thirty something years of my life, have I been confirming that God is a myth?

but I'm wondering if for the past thirty something years of my life, have I been confirming that God is a myth?

No. If from your pov god is myth, that can't be comfirmed. And if you find that God is not a myth that can't be comfirmed either. Please keep confiming yourself. God can not be confirmed. God is greater than anyone. God is in heaven. We can't confirm heaven. We are earth. We can hope to be firmly established on earth. Even the most faithful person can not get to heaven on his own merit.

It is not too far away from the truth to veiw God as myth (I looked it up). Just beware of viewing God as a lie. What would be the point of that anyway? It doesn't make sense to me to call an unseen force nothing. Love is force. God is love. What harm is there in meditating on that?

I hate the negativity created by doomsday cults harping on about the last days. We are in the best time ever to live.

    1. Since World War 2 the world is in the greatest period of peace in history.
    2. Deaths from famine is a fraction of what it was even 100 years ago.
    3. Despite a huge increase in population there has not been an increase in earthquake related death because we are now better prepared for them.
    4. Pestilence has been greatly controlled through medicine, with global life expectancy increasing from 28 in the 1800s to 68 now.

It is a shame JWs are so brainwashed to be convinced that everything is so bad. In addition to that above, consider also improvements in women and childrens rights and the abolishment of slavery.
