The disconnect from the family of humanity......the snap of that fellow feeling......the cold indifferent shrug as each person dries up and hardens into a mere thing in a Kingdom Hall.....is a withering away of all that is noble, pure and innocent.

And when that icy moment sets in the rest of the world vanishes into an invisible nothing in the heart of that strutting and proud lump of human flesh called Jehovah's Witness.

It is the first of many deaths they will endure...

ScenicViewer, I don't want to derail Terrys topic. Here's an old thread where we could debate my 'first four words of the Bible' statement; What's the BIGGEST LIE you ever heard?

    Nicolaou,

I think you misunderstood. I wasn't looking for a debate, but was just wondering what you meant by the statement....it could be taken more than one way.

I will look at that link. Maybe I'll get the answer there.

I believe that the 1914 lie, (that JWs predicted the end of the Gentile times or that they predicted anything at all that came true is probably the most repeated lie, just coming at it from a histoprical perspective. That lie is in almost everything they ever printed from the 1930s on. Every JW has repeated it millions of times.

    @ Terry,

    I like this post.

Can you give us the source of the first article? And a publication date?

And what Watchtower publication is the small clip from, the one with the underlining?

    Thanks.

Having a few Falshbacks on this topic. Missing out on college in the late 60's, huge life course change, can't even begin to describe it. Upon leaving I immediately enrolled in college, and joined in Social work with several Charities.

When I need scans of particular Watchtower publications I go to Google and type them in and click on the IMAGE menu. Up pops everything! Over the years there have been so many wonderful scans there is a plethora in the "cloud".

What is different, in my thinking, about 1975 as compared and contrasted with 1914 is that it was within my lifetime a stunning example of FALSIFICATION of a premise in full public view------that NOBODY EVEN NOTICED!

You see, "civilians" (non-JW's) don't take these date-setting fiascos seriously anyway! While, actual JW's don't really understand what it is all about so much as they go-along-to-get-along and then sigh with relief when it is over.

So, the Watchtower Society gets away with it like the perfect crime!

Yes. Today Terry. My google alert EMAILED ME and thousands of others who set "Watchtower Society" as a watchword your thread a few minutes ago.

Maybe I should hire a biplane with a long trailing banner to extend the message to populations in large cities!
