If Jim Bob was my husband Id have a bed-bat ready to knock him out if he EVER came near me again with his sperm! I think I read somewhere they are open to having more kids....hells bells Michelle nearly died due to pre-eclampsia and the baby is lucky to be alive after being a prem who then underwent operations to correct a bowel problem.

Whats Jim Bob gonna say if his wife dies next time? Its "Gods will?".....not much comfort for her children. Irresponsible behaviour and ultimately dangerous. Ive only got 2 kids and thats enough thanks very much.

In line with what Pam said, if something fatal does happen to Michelle, they belong to some wacky religion, so like the Dubs, i have a feeling that he would be married within the year if something happened to her, just like the Dubs do, but, the only turn-off for another woman might be "all 'dem damn kids", but then maybe it won't be.

(I'm just waiting for Jim Bob to get caught with some filthy transvestite whore)

I think she is seriously creepy. The wierd hairdo and the creepy baby voice. I pity the kids, I hope some of them escape, move to California and party it up for a while. Their lives are not normal.

They (and quite a few others) feel that using birth control of ANY kind violates Bible principles. I remember not that long ago a pharmacist refused to fill a prescription because it violated his religious principles. I have watched their show and their children seem well loved and good kids. I don't personally agree with their interpretation, but every time a woman gets pregnant and has a baby she is at some risk.

I don't know how they give all those children individual attention. They can't possilbly. I think the older ones help take care of the younger ones.

As long as they are supporting their own children,no one can really say anything. But,she is getting older, and there are increased risks with an older mother,as there are with a very young mother.

Some of the things the Duggars are into are not well known. Too much to explain here, but anyone who is interested can google "Bill Gothard" "IBLP" "Visionary Daughters" "Quiverfull" "Vision Forum". There is a lot more behind it than just a personal decision to not use birth control. One guy who is the brother-in-law of their oldest son who got married, has defected from the movement, although still a Christian. He has a blog called IBLP detox"

I was exposed to the Bill Gothard seminar in my late teens - he uses Bible verses in much the same way as the Watchtower, almost all completely out of context. His stuff is extremely filled with extra-biblical rules, odd applications and legalism. It seems to have an appeal for parents who have fears for their teenage kids. Extremely patriarchal - girls should not leave home until married, not go to college, etc.

She's only in her forties at a time when quite a few women are having their first baby, putting off having it at an early age many times to establish their career or financial reasons.

Many children have 2 parents they never see. Also, I have had friends who were part of a family of 15 and 17 children respectively and they were all Lutherans from the Dakotas and spent quite a bit of time working together in the family business. They were much more loved than my brother and I were with 2 parents who put their recreational life ahead of us and left us with strangers to go party.
