    WT library CD research...Hmmmmm....

Ask a JW to help you out with this research (credit to Mad), now that they are officialy encouraged to do it.

Many elders have trained publishers to look up

articles by using the Index or the Watchtower Library

LOL, right after they taught them to sit and roll over.

I think punk of nice is eluding to something i have thought for a while, Jehovah is just another name for the GB. When you get right down to it, and strip away all the BS, the governing body is Jehovah.

yourmomma - Spot on. .................for some reason I never actually come out and say it though.....I type myself into a cul-de-sac sometimes.

The GB are protecting their 'brand' and standing in the place of god.

For me I'm not sure about the existance of god or not but I'm not obsessing over it. what I DO KNOW is the 'Jehovah'(TM) of the WBT$ is just a front for the GB's scam.

So I took their advice and simplified my life. I quit going to their boasting sessions and field circus. That took a lot of time I had been wasting on their rubbish and allowed me to do what I felt like instead. Anyone else that is still going, and especially those who are pious-sneering, you will find things so much simpler once you are able to extricate yourself from it.

And yes, things were so much better--before becoming a witless. If you were born in, you did not have that advantage--if you were born in but now are out, yes things were in fact worse and yes, you do have to watch that you don't selectively remember the good times and ignore the bad. But if you were recruited, the times before you became a witless will almost invariably have been better than once you become one. Especially if you compare one year before being recruited with one year after baptism.

Go ahead and seek material wealth provided you do it honestly. If you get wealthy creating value, you will also create opportunity for others. It will also put a product on the market that will make the world a little better. Can anyone honestly say they did any of that by pious-sneering? Or going to Beth Hell? Or missionary work? Or becoming a hounder-hounder or above?

WT Wizard, I too am encouraged at how simplifying my life by quitting meetings, service and assemblies/conventions/SADs has made me HAPPY!

OK, I am no good at WT speak like SD-7, but I LOVE my life since quitting.

No guilt, no BS, no kowtowing to uneducated puffed up elders and CO's.

I can read a science book without feeling a sense of doom!!

    Back to the OP:

You gotta love that example: a wealthy couple decides to pioneer. Wow. You would think they would have hung to that one and not published it.

If you are wealthy, it isn't too *tough* to pioneer. You can spread your yearly hours, real or inflated, over your 3 congregations; no worries about making the rent on a crappy apartment, or a worn out car. Sick of sister righteous? Head to the Bahamas for a few weeks, recharge.

How out of touch are the writers of this crap anyway??

The extent of my "materialism" is trying to rebuild a nest egg that I didn't "need" because the end was coming in 1975/1984/1994 or as my BIL said last year, "so so near".

.........and thru' their out of touch propaganda they hope to disenfranchise their JW victims from reality too!

Seriously! They think people, sorry, 'publishers' have to be trained to use an index?

    That was my reaction too.

I think they know the publishers have as much sense as the elders and don't need training. The reason for stating it that way is sly. IMHO:

    1. It implies the publishers need permission from the elders to do their research. It's a priviledge, not given to all.
    2. It implies the elders have special knowledge that publishers don't have, reinforcing subservience and dependence. The elders have been 'trained' by Mother how to use the index and the publishers haven't.
    3. It implies the publishers aren't bright enough to figure it out for themselves, again reinforcing their dependence on the guys with the secret knowledge.

It also reinforces that you can find all you need to know in the WT publications. This is subtle and blatant at the same time! No going to a real library and doing research, keep everyone's head in the dark.
