In thinking about this a little more....

Is it that I am "OUT" and realize now htat the insides of a KH looks freaky? It looks like the pictures inside the Mormon Polygamy Sects or Branch Davidians..... run as fast as you can out of there. Imagine being a Bible Study and 'hearing from family concerns that the JWs were a cult?' and then going inside one of these little lairs of a KH. Run, run, run.

Is it that I am "OUT" and realize now htat the exterior of a KH look like a bomb shelter? The building's design and lack of warm landscaping just screams "Closed up, fearful group who doesn't have windows. End of the world, failed predictions." Perhaps this also helps to deter newcomers?

Is it my imagination or does that first pic of the KH posted look like a mobile home?...oh well, at least it has windows!

I keep in mind that the word of God goes beyond any physical structure

just bein' out in the open air feelin' a cool breeze on a hot day, taken in all that

nature has to offer while I walk the nature trail in the park and at the same time

give God the glory, that he let me, a sinner by nature enjoy it all

wasblind, you point to an important mistake they have believed.

The doctrine reaches that God is pleased that families with their children are better off at a (boring) meeting EVERY Sunday than outside enjoying quality time together with the nature.

sounds like the fake grass fiasco in a KH I attended

Well that's the most authentic thing I've ever heard a KH doing. It depicts their fake grassy paradise.

Where I grew up in Minnesota, there was a sister who was a "decorator". She made these paper fans out of wallpaper, ribbon, fake flowers and other misc. BS! They were SO ugly and littered the walls of the KH's all over the area. I mean they were ASS-UGLY!

Oh man, it's both very funny and a horror at the same time. Why'd they let her do it?

The hall in New Zealand I attended as a child had the customary seried ranks of rows of hard-plastic chairs, an upright untuned piano rigidly parked to the side of a main exit and, just to the rear of the custom-wood podium on the platform, a clump of stiff dried flowers stuck permanently in a purple plastic vase. Apart from the sweat from stressed, perspiring and tired bodies, the hall was chronically devoid of lives well lived. Very neat, very functional, very boring, very funeral-parlour-like.

People get the places of 'worship' they deserve. The JW rank and file deserve the plastic-decored, taste-absent, sales centres mis-called 'Kingdom Halls'. A foretaste of their vision of unending life on planet earth?
