Letter About Blood Doctrine.
Bangalore
Thank you for posting this. there are no scriptures quoted to support their "belief", they say they are not inspired, so what right have they to make me sacrifice the life of my beautiful children because they happen to hold an unsupportable "belief" ?
I did not realise until recently that they have known for years that the Blood doctrine is not right, but have stuck to it, why ?
These very questions are circulated anonymously on the Internet.
Why make that statement? . . . is it a veiled threat? . . . ie; we know where you've been looking.
If the very same questions are circulating on the internet . . . it shows what a piss-poor job they do of actually answering them.
As you wrote to us using a congregation letterhead, we thought you would appreciate us sending a copy of our reply to the body of elders.
So much for the personal confidentiality of the writer. And I wonder what else they said . . . sounds like Mr Hemmings is in trouble . . .
And for what? . . . yep . . . asking questions!
"Dear brother hemming,
of course we are aware of the questions that are posed by apostates on the internet. we do not intend to answer them at all. The answers are in our literature, go look it up. We have made up our minds long ago and thats that.
We have given you the theological finger by sending a copy to your elders".
Lotsa love, the big boys club.
Copying the elders at one's local congregation - after accusing one of doubting the FDS and looking on the Intenet. That's a kick in the arse if I've ever seen one.
And, isn't it ironic to follow up that kick in the rear with a humble "Christian Love"!
This is a CONTROL organization. No questions ask, top down management, no independent thinking, follow us unquestionably until your death . . . CULT.
They would have sent a follow-up letter to the elders in any case, letterhead or not... that's their modus operandi.
Please now accept this expression of our warm Christian love and best wishes, as we remain, Your Brothers.
I feel this is one of the most pretentious and disingenuous statements I've ever read. The letter has a harsh and evasive tone. Nothing loving or helpful in it.
And the expression "we remain your brothers"... is that supposed to suggest 'we will not remain your brothers much longer if you keep asking questions?'
If that's warm christian love I'd rather hug an iceberg
you best be believin' that brother is a marked man
"WE have taken the theological position that.........."
Hmmm...reminds me of a special meeting about blood that I attended once. It was the H L C seminar, and they had an open meeting in the evening.
The speaker drew the chart on the board, with the stuff above the line forbidden, the stuff below "up to your conscience"..With great solemnity he said that "The Governing Body have decided" ......thus.
It was clear that this was a man-made decision, no pretence of scriptural backing..If the G B say so, the sheep have to follow - even unto death!
BTW, I wonder what the outcome of this letter was??
This was the seminal issue that caused me to walk away from JW's. To put it's foul nature in perspective it has caused the deaths of thousands perhaps hundreds of thousands of believers since 1945. To put a face on it........ Google Jonestown and thumbnail photos will pop up of people men, women and children lying dead in a field. That's the annual death count of JW's each and every year for a belief that is actually the biblical admonishment on how to prepare meat. To be a member of JW's is to be a member of a death cult..................I should stop being so reticent and learn to speak out more...lol.
