In the organization, friends become family also, and there are friends sticking closer than a brother. It really hurts to lose them, as well as my flesh and blood family.
I love the Witnesses. I was one of them. I know thier pain, how they think, how they feel. But I dislike the religion that enslaves them, that disallows them from allowing them to love their fellowman. And I loathe the leadership, who are every bit the Man of Lawlessness as Christendom's Hierarchy is.

I must say your walking into a dangerous territory when you fully engage yourself with this highly controlling
religious organization. Right off the bat they instill the notion that anyone not a JWS is deemed bad association or reprehensibly evil,
relatives or not. Then this can go much further toward people who were once JWS and whom posed arguments or complaints about
the organization's doctrines, right up to a total shunning. The JW mantra set up is that if your a JWS your all right, if you are not, you are all wrong
and association with these ones are to be avoided.
And like you said if a person decides later on that they felt better in a different religion other than the JWS , that person would be shunned for
the rest of their lives by all JWS including their own family members. Which to me is against the religious freedom of self expression in most
modernized countries like the US.
The JWs are programed to present all of the good things of the organization up front, ( unconditional love , paradise at hand etc. etc. )
particularly to newly interested ones., t he miserably dark stuff gets shoved off into a corner out of sight in this regard.

And Remember........
Most people that are slowy being indoctrinated into this faith aren't totally aware of the shunning ( DF ) policy in operation or how extreme it can get.
The WTS/JWs DFing policy can be so devastating to some that they're only resolve was to commit suicide.
There are some members of this forum that have related this problem before.
I've personally have known 3 of these situation locally in my area.
Again something that goes undisclosed when studying with a JWS.
A shout out to all those shunned by family....My heart is in pain for you and may God speed!
