And you know, Charile Brown - that sentiment can only get worse now that they have told the "annointed" that they cannot be sure who they are, how many there are of them, and that outside the GB they don't really matter anyway.

Each time the light changes, a brain dead JW looks at it as another TEST of their faith. I think that is what keeps so many of them in, especially those that have spent decades passing each "test" one by one. There is always the LAST test to get through, then they get their reward. Give up---reject the latest doctrine that supplants the old one---FAIL! Remember the trigger scripture: "he that endures to the end will be saved". And so they keep plodding along, shunning family and friends, and living their life for what they think is Jehovah's will, never having the courage to examine their belief system thoroughly.

...that sentiment can only get worse now that they have told the "annointed" that they cannot be sure who they are...

You would think that with the de-emphasizing of the importance of being a plain ole non-GB remnant member, people would lose any fascination with being one...

but not only are the numbers going up, I know of people, always non-anointed before, who are now claiming to be of the annointed. And not just some old loopy folks. People younger than me who, I thought, were fairly mentally stable.

The WTS/JS really does attract some weirdos...

Maybe they are moving toward three classes - (well, four) - GB, kind of OK ordinary annointed, questionable annointed craziesw, and rank and file idiots...(who do all the work and contribute all the money).

What exactly is their main selling point nowadays, can they really expect the HH's whose door they knock on to swallow the "last Days" and imminence of the big A like they used to ?

That is a really embarrassing message to actually put in to words.

I reckon if the average JW is asked to explain his faith he would run a mile, if they can't just shove a couple of their trashy mags into the HH's hand they are gone.

My guess - 1914 fades away and becomes forgotten history.

    Quite correct in my opinion.

After 2014 this is going to come more into focus, they've temporally put a band-aid on it by saying Jesus meant generation(s)

but over time this is going to fail. A generation in WT talk and understanding is the total years of life of a human not really

exceeding 100 years so after 2014 they've got a big problem to resolve.

The other problem this organizations faces into the future isn't from outside sources its

from themselves and its many pieces of literature the organization has printed over the years.

Literature that can easily found now on the inter-net.

Maybe they should have just stuck to giving talks, that way there would be little if any evidence out and about.

They cannot divorce themselves from 1914 without losing the basis for Authoritarism. Without 1914, there is no 1918/1919 judgement of Christendom and selection of a "Faithful Slave".

And with blood...after so many lost their lives because of their "conscience", with some losing even their children, how can they suddenly let it be okay now? Many would wake up and see that it was for nothing. The floodgates of Litigation might pour in--a class action lawsuit for sure.

Some teachings and practices are like a cowboy riding a wild bull, they cannot get down gently. They have to cling on to some things for dear life and tighten the reins of authority.

I just love it when the reasoning book is used to show their foolishness

and if I'm bless with breath in my body in 2014, and the JW's come 'round

my door I will show them their folly, even if they ain't usin' that book by then

It will be tangible proof that they are false prophets

whoop 'em wit it y'all, whoop 'em wit their own mess

on pages 97, 200, 234 and 239 holds the false prophecy about 1914

whoop 'em wit this mess that have destroyed families and lives
