Qcmbr,
I love A Man for All Seasons. Not knowing Tudor history, I thought he was so devout and had a keen legal mind. Certainly, a man of great principles. I'm addicted to Henry VIII biograpies so I was shocked to hear how he tortured and executed innocent people who were reformers. He did it with blood lust and absolute certainty that he was correct. No seasoned politician could be such a saint. Now I don't know how to regard More. His refusal to acknoweldge Anne still amazes me. If people think times are stressful now they should read some Tudor political histories. Which way do you swing today to save your life?
I like Liam Neesons' Aslan in the Chronicles of Narnia. The PBS series with the stuffed lion made me upset.
Gone With the Wind - Frankly, Scarlett, I don't give a !@#$%^&*....There is always tomorrow.
The scene in the King's Speech where both of them are working on his speech. My bro has cp and had speech therapy. Also, it was nice for Americans to see Elizabeth II's father portrayed as a historical figure.
Gandhi- The massacre in A. and the salt march. Also, where the British judge sentencing Gandhi stands up to honor him.
Any Beatles film, including Magical Mystery Tour. I love the scene in MMT where they are coming down the musical stairs as old musical stars, all decked out in white tails. Cried with Let It Be when Paul and George had their very tense tiff. Loved the roof concert. Blue Meanies! A Hard Day's Night when Ringo goes on his adventure. HELP- John singing Hide Your Love Away. Tight jeans on all Beatles.
The first Muppet film where Kermit actually rides a bicycle. It garner spontaneous applause.
Harvey - the entire film.
Woody Allen used to be a favorite. I adored his work. No longer does what it used to do.
