The Name "Jesus" - Another Take

To the Household of God, Israel, and those who go with... may you all have peace!

As you may know, I have shared the information given me by our Lord as to his name, Jah eShua. We've had many discussions, others and I, regarding this... with some stating concern because they believe I am the "only" one to use that name. Of course, that is not true. Yesterday, one of my dear houseguests (and member of the Body of our Lord) mentioned something he had come across on the Internet regarding the name "Jesus." What he shared was quite interesting, so I asked him to give me the information. The following is a link to that information, which I thought may be of some interest to you:

    http://www.plim.org/JesusOrigin.htm

Please know that while I agree that the name is incorrect, my understanding from our Lord as to why that IS differs from what the researchers here assert. No matter; I am sharing this SOLELY to show what I have said many times before: that there are others who also disagree as to the name "Jesus"... and call on the name of "Yahshua" (for me, it it "Jah eShua", as you know - because that is the name I was given).

Of course, the opposers will most assuredly comment (and quite nastily, probably - why, as to both, though, I have NO idea... except that they are simply unable to refrain) on the basis that these are people who profess faith. Meaning, anything coming anyone who "believes"... is suspect, if not altogether false simply for that reason... and so should be rejected. I know you know this position; I just thought you should be warned (in case you are fairly new here).

Again, I am not sharing the information for you to put faith in what it says, but only to show that I am not the only one... and that there are others who have the same "issue" and understanding (as to the name "Jesus") and are entirely independent of [any knowledge] of me. I don't know them, didn't know OF them until yesterday (well, today, when I looked them up), and so have no idea what they're truly about... other than per what is posted on their site. But, as our Lord said, "He that is not against you is for you." Whether such ones would agree with ME as to what I received from our Lord as to why the name came about is unknowable. It's also highly unlikely (but I could be wrong). I have not been directed to share what I received with them; however, I was directed to do so with you... and have... and so now I also share this.

    Again, peace to you!

YOUR servant and fellow slave of Christ,

    SA

I know it is not just you :) Just looking around at Jewish referenses to Jesus show Yeshua, Yehoshua, and perhaps others.

What you 'hear' is corroborated by what others have researched. I like that he lists the reason that the beginning would be Yah, and not Yeh, is because the name of God would be in the name of His Son as well. Like Eli-jah.

Shelby, since we can put together a method to ensure I am not lying and, according to you, that was the reason your Lord wouldn't prove his powers and thus his assertion about me being an alcoholic, will he now step up to the plate and prove himself?

As I mentioned, I have devised two methods to ensure honesty on all sides. That WAS what you said was the stumbling block and now it is gone, so we can get on with this.

Now I am glad you did that EP. So some who have taken such offense at Shelby for stating something publicly can get an idea of how that came about in the first place, and stop making out like you are some sort of victim. Which I assume neither Shelby OR you thinks of you as being, lol.

    Peace,

    Tammy

I am not a victim at all. I am also not going to let the smearing of my name pass without either proof or apology.

If my memory serves, dear Shelby, and it is not reliable nowadays, I believe you have a thread or a post somewhere that explains fully why the name is as you say.

Could you post a link please ? or if you have time post an explanation on here, for new members especially.

Bible names have always interested me , but this is more important than just surface meanings.

The article in your link claims that Mary's native tongue was Hebrew ? I thought that Mary, and your Lord, were speakers of Aramaic as a first languge ?and then more likely Greek as a second, and Hebrew third ??

I am not being rude here, but I am interested, when your Lord speaks to you, do you hear the actual voice, if so, what accent has the voice, or perhaps it is not as simple as that ?

Its nothing new that Jesus is not the original version of his name, even the "Greatest Man" book said so. I don't understand why you make such a drama out of it. We don't pronounce any bible characters names in the way they would have recognised - so what?

Jesus, Amos, Andy, Evelyn who cares! A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Gertrude Stein. God saves for Joshua was given to utter thousands of Jewish boys. I doubt there is any magic in the name "Jesus" by itself. If a truly unique name were chosen perhaps. I worry about why Jesus, being part human, continues to allow horrid conditions on earth rather than the correct vision of his Name.

At the name of Steve or Bif every knee shall bow. His actions and status as God are the important points.

Again, the HS you experience focuses on picayune parts. Humans in the earth cry out for deliverance and why in the first place? When does the kingdom actually arrive in conrete ways?

I hope that the orignal Name will become what people write. For now it is common to write "Jesus" and people will know that you mean the Son of Man. When you write it right, some people get bent out of shape. So for most of the time I shall write (and say in my head) Jesus. You should hear my head trying to say it right. Or not!

The most important thing though is that people get to know what he means. And learn what his message is for.

    Peace!
