  Hi.

  I dealt with TMJ about 13 years ago. I suffered from major headaches, severe neck pain, shoulder pain and my left arm had limited mobility. After seeing several dentists I found one of the top TMJ specialists in the country. The specialist was Dr. Harold Gelb. Dr. Gelb helped me tremendously. He is the creator of the MORA appliance (Mandibular Orthepedic Repositioning Appliance). It helped reset my jaw position and took the stress off my Mandibular joints.   The low blow on WV I'll take with a grain of salt

  Grew up with crooked teeth in NY and had TMJ. Any "professional" I saw, which was few and far between, always blamed the crooked teeth.

  Moved to God's land of WV and got my teeth straightened. The first year made my average TMJ go wild! My Orthodontist said "hang in there it will get better."

  It did, now unless I chew gum, I don't have much pain at all.

  It sounds like you had by far the worse case scenario
