When you left the Man-made Organization currently known as the WTBTS??

And for those still "in" but mentally "out" what have you started doing thats against the silly, stupid and non-scriptural Watchtower policy/law/rule??

I know the question has been made before on another thread but I couldn't find it and also there's been quite some growth in new ones here to JWN, so just wanted to see if we could all share some lovely/funny/random experiences.

Im currently still in but since leaving the matrix I have participated in holidays, mainly for work. Went to a christmas party, said things like "happy Halloween", "merry Christmas" and "happy new year"!

I also watch any movie I want regardless of rating,

bought a smurf tee-shirt!

Let my hair grow out a bit

Mentioned my interest in buying a TWO-DOOR car... (That one turned some heads!)

Listened to opposing views from the people at the door, -who have every right to express themselves as well-, instead of running back to the car in fear and listening to the mature elder telling us how we didn't have to worry cause we would have their house after Armageddon!

There are many more but being still in makes it so difficult to be on here... Will be checking my smartphone later though...

In the few months I've been out I have:

- Attended a christmas party.

- Smoked weed.

- Attempted and failed to grow a beard.

- Gone to a strip club

- Been to all the bars in my area

It's been fun so far. Still no girlfriend but I'm working on that one...

When my divorce was final, I left the courthouse and drove directly to the DMV to change back to my maiden name and register to vote. Wow! That was one of the sweetest days of my life.

I went and got a girlfriend and since then I'm married and happy with her!

I can't think of a particular thing I did since I slowly faded. But holidays are whatever, and I'm just trying to live a normal life

My wife and I went into a porn shop.

I grew a beard

We went to heavy metal concerts

We've gotten drunk

We went to a birthday party

We went on an Apostafest

And we have been enjoying life to the fullest with no regrets! It's been an extremely fun and "happifying" experience.

What I learned: All their scare tactics about how if you leave "Jehovah" (the organization) you will be miserable, was all BS. Life is as enjoyable or as miserable as you allow it to be. It's up to you and not some voodoo magical curse that is placed upon you after leaving.

I started celebrating birthdays and holidays right away ,because it felt good and right to share love with my friends and family . Starting going out with friends from work which meant going to bars (oh my) ,and did things other adults do for fun .

One of the very first things i did was tell my Doctor to take the NO BLOOD information out of my records , and then I went out and registered to vote .

Just the usual, drinking as much or as little as I want, watching what I want, etc.

Funny you should mention the two door car thing, there are just so many unwritten rules in the JW world that wandering off the reservation just a bit gets you weird looks.

I remember when I was having initial doubts I was looking into buying a half-ownership of a condo in Mexico. I mentioned it in conversation one freezing cold morning out in FS. The elder I was working with basically told me that I was being a materialistic bastard by even thinking about buying into a vacation home in "the last days." It was just another push out the door!

Wow Lost! It's funny how buying a home can anger an elder while the WTBTS is currently in the Real Estate business constantly selling and buying new properties in these "last days".
