Am I to just pick and choose what to believe just because your "mountains of evidence" apparently say otherwise?

Well, then be equally critical to the physical world bound by said "mountains of evidence". Don't just pick and choose.

Never get on an elevator, drive a car or board a plane - they are ALL governed by the same fundamentals the literal flood account invalidates.

People - it's OK to believe something even if everyone else challenges it. I'm talking about the Bible here. I'm not saying it's 100% accurate. It has gone through many translations over the years. Some words have appeared where they should not have. Other words have been taken out.

The Word is like a jig saw puzzle.

Well, it's been an interesting discussion, done in the spirit of mildness.

I have to go now but will be back to check for new comments.

    Yan,

I surmise you are an atheist.

That is exactly how most devout religionists conduct themselves by only cherry picking scriptures to support their

own doctrines. You don't have to deny Christ and what he represented to people when he was living on earth or even

how and what he represents to people today.

    I don't.

    thetrueone,

I have not tried to cherry pick any scriptures to support doctine which is clearly already there...or are you saying that all scripture is not inspired of God?

So, where do spirit creature's sexual thoughts/desires come from?

I look at Spirit as something that can be mixed with the physical world.

John 3 - 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

According to John 3 water is required in the born again process, why? Because of a custom that John the Baptiser started? I think it goes deeper than that. There is a big difference between before and after the flood. Before the flood spirit creatures are able to mate with fleshly creatures and afterward they were not. I personally don't see why anyone would think it odd that spirit creatures could have sexual desire. Human sex would be a facincating thing for extraterrestrials to observe (especially if they did not have an equivalent themselves) so why would life caused by the same source that caused physical sex not also be enticed by it? I think it's logical to say that they would be enticed which may have caused God to clean the slate in the first place.

For me, globular clusters are fascinating to observe.

But I don't want to fuck them!

I resent having my sex life compared to globular clusters!

    Sabastious,

    An interesting thought!

I once read somewhere that spirits are composed of energy that vibrates at extremely high frequencies. In order to perform tasks in the physical world, they pulse down, or lower their vibrations, which gives them mass and atomic weight. This is pure speculation but if might explain how they interact with our physical world.
